So, I came into work this morning to get a message from our office manager saying that someone had called for me. I'd never heard of the guy, who claimed I had been to his website (an obviously shady site that I won't promote here), and wanted me to call. He had apparently looked up our company's main number based, I'm guessing, on my email account he obtained somewhere.

So, Mr. Rick Harrold, let's see how looking up people's info works.

The phone number he left me is a Rochester, NY area code (585). A quick lookup reveals numerous spam messages and classified ads he's littered about the web. On one of those is an address for his consulting company. Let's look at a satellite picture on Google maps of that address. Well, how about that? It's a house!

So, in case anyone ever needs it for any reason:

Richard "Rick" Harrold
170 Brandywine Terrace
Rochester, NY 14623

[email protected]

(585) 486-4413

LinkedIn: Rick Harrold

ECAC Player of the week and multiple "Athlete of the Week" at SUNY Brockport in football!

P.S. - Don't call me again.

Phony name?

Richard Harrold (e.g. every Tom, Dick, and Harry)

Possible, I suppose, though I'm not sure why you'd set up a detailed LinkedIn profile under a fake name.

What's awesome is that this thread is already in the top ten google hits for "Rick Harrold", his phone number, and his address.

Cool. Hopefully he'll get a bit of his own medicine. F**kin' spammers, always sending me stuff and shit.
