PG/SG Kelsey Mitchell (Big POY, 3x All-American, OSU All-time Leading Scorer, WNBA All-Rookie Team, 3X WNBA All Star, All-WNBA, Indiana Fever)

Jagdaddy

Head Coach
I was shocked to find that we didn't already have an alumni thread for Kelsey Mitchell (if she has a dedicated thread elsewhere that a mod should merge this with and move to this forum, by all means please do so).

In addition to the awards listed in the thread title, she also won the Dawn Staley Award for best D1 guard and the WNBA's Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award (Dawn Staley's obviously an all-timer in her own right). Here's the article that I was going to post on what I had assumed would be an already existing thread: https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/i...2025-kelsey-mitchell-indiana-fever-semifinals

Wow, I am shocked as well.

Kelsey is a flat out problem in the WNBA. She gets nowhere near the props she should get but this season with Clark out so much, they have given her a ton of air time. She has outplayed every opponent in the playoffs so far and is absolutely carrying the Fever on her back. With a healthy core next year, and I hope a fresh new contract for her, they will take the league by storm.

Unfortunately I just don't think they have the horses to win this year.

Deservedly so. Certainly stepped up, and with CC out, she certainly got more looks. Can be disputed, but believe her game has elevated since she lit it up at tOSU. Don't believe she drove as much as she does now, and always amazes that the smallest player on the court goes inside against all the tall timber, and wills the ball into the basket. Love it. Count us among the people that turn on the Fever (and not for rest of the league), mainly for CC, but now for Kelsey. As to the refs, have seen better Jr Hi refs than these buffoons.

Former Ohio State Star Kelsey Mitchell is On A Record-Setting WNBA Scoring Run

163295_h.JPG

No player in WNBA history has ever had a more consistent scoring stretch in a single season than Kelsey Mitchell has had over her last 17 games.

The former Ohio State star has scored at least 20 points in each of her last 17 games, breaking the previous WNBA record of 15 straight 20-point games in a single season by A’ja Wilson in 2023.

Mitchell is currently on a run of seven straight games with at least 26 points, including a 28-point game on Tuesday night in which she scored 20 before halftime.
