Kelsey Mitchell officially holds the WNBA record for the most consecutive 20-point games in league history.

Mitchell is the first player in league history to top 20 points in 21 consecutive games, breaking A’ja Wilson’s previous record of 20 straight 20-point games. She broke the record in just one half on Thursday night, scoring 21 points before halftime in the Indiana Fever’s matchup with the Dallas Wings.

The former Ohio State guard also reached the 900-point mark for the season on Thursday, becoming just the fourth player in WNBA history with 900 points in a single year.

Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell are making the Fever into title contenders

The Fever picked up an important road win on Sunday in Chicago on the backs of their star backcourt.

Championships are often won on the back of a strong defense. At least that’s how the old adage goes.
The Fever are looking to buck that trend this season on the back of their historic backcourt.

On Sunday, Indiana used a strong second half to overwhelm the Sky, 113-90, in the final contest of their five-game road trip. Caitlin Clark tallied 37 points and 10 assists, the fifth 30-point, 10-assist game of her career. The rest of the players in WNBA history have four.
At the same time, Kelsey Mitchell poured in 23 second-half points to finish with 30 on the night, extending her record streak of games with at least 20 points to 23.

That league needs to move up their schedule so they have the playoffs in August when there’s much less competition for sports on air.

If they were in the Finals over the past few days, they could have gotten a fair amount of attention. If they were up against non-major golf and tennis, regular season baseball, and preseason NFL I think they could get some decent TV ratings.
