I am still sticking with 55% for OSU...looking more and more like that crystal ball of yours is right...
oden is very likely to end up wherever conley ends up. that could work out extremely well for osu, or not so good.bucknuts44820 said:rivals.com$

Its a big recruiting weekend coming up for Wake Forest with the Demon Deacons hosting two of the best prospects in the country. Teammates Mike Conley, the No. 35 ranked player in the 2006 class, and Greg Oden, the No. 1 ranked player in the 2006 class, will both take their first official visit this weekend.
Conley and Oden, a 6-foot-11, 225-pound center, also said they expect to visit Ohio State some time in May but are unsure if they will take any other visits. Oden did not list any other schools, but Conley listed Ohio State, Illinois, North Carolina and Arkansas.
(after the recent rumors circulating on the boards, I would say our chances with both of these prospects are going up.)

Difficult decision: College recruiters put heat on team minded Conley Jr.
BY DAVID SHOWERS Northwest Arkansas Times
The decision of which college to attend is a simple, private choice for most. The average college hopeful’s options are limited, and their selection is of little consequence to anyone outside their small circle of friends and family.
But when someone can run a basketball team as efficiently as Mike Conley Jr., son of Mike Conley, who garnered a gold medal at the 1992 Olympics after authoring a storied career for the University of Arkansas track team, the choice of where to matriculate is complicated.
His options are boundless, and his final decision will delight the supporters of the school he chooses and deflate the devotees of the schools whom he leaves at the altar.
Leading Lawrence North High to two straight Class AAAA Indiana state championships and running the point for Indy Spiece Heat, one of the best AAU teams in the country, make Conley a coveted commodity. RivalsHoops, a prominent scouting service, has tagged Conley, a junior at Lawrence North, as the sixth best high school point guard in the class of 2006 and the 35 th best overall player.
Last weekend, Conley and his Heat teammates trekked to Fayetteville to compete in The Real Deal on the Hill All-Star Basketball Tournament, which was more than a roundball extravaganza for the Conleys. Conley Sr., the Heat’s coach, and junior lived in Fayetteville until 1999 — before the elder landed a job with USA Track and Field and moved his brood to Indianapolis, USTAF’s home base.
Absence from Arkansas made Conley Jr. grow fonder of it. "It feels real good to be back and see old friends," Conley said outside Ramay Junior High, site of his team’s 80-43 Saturday shellacking of the Birmingham Raptors during the second round of pool play. "I’ve spent more than half my life here. Both Indiana and Arkansas are great, but I love being here."
Arkansas is on Conley’s short list of schools, which includes six other suitors: Wake Forest, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio State and Michigan State. Some of those schools wanted him to make a commitment as a freshman, but Conley’s decision wasn’t hastened by their persistent advances.
Although he said he’s leaning toward Wake Forest and Ohio State, Conley has reserved the right to postpone his decision until the summer. Until then, all of his pursuers will be waiting with baited breath.
At first glance, Conley doesn’t appear to have the frame — 6-1 and slight of build — of a big-time Division I point guard. His pergame averages for the 2005 season were solid, but not eye popping — 10.7 points, five rebounds and three assists. However, it’s Conley’s intangibles, rather than physical dimensions or stats, that have college scouts and coaches aflutter.
They like the way Conley stewarded Lawrence North to the state championship during his sophomore year, despite playing with a cast on one arm. Conley simply used his good arm to loft in quick lefty jumpers with accuracy that belied his malady.
Recruiters like Conley’s selflessness and his facility for keeping teammates involved — a rare attribute in a sport that has become mottled by self-indulgence.
Conley is comfortable being ancillary to Lawrence North and Heat teammate Greg Oden, a 7-0 leviathan that many prognosticators believe could be a top pick in the 2006 NBA draft should he choose to spurn the myriad colleges pining for his physical presence
Oden isn’t the only planetary star in Conley’s realm. Daequan Cook, a 6-4 shooting guard from Dayton, Ohio, is also a member of the Heat. RivalsHoops ranks him as third best player in the 2006 class. Two other Heat teammates — Jamil Tucker, 6-9; Gary, Ind., and Eric Gordon, 6-2; Indianapolis Ind. — are both among RivalsHoops top 100 list.
Dave Telep, the national recruiting director for Scout. com, was taking in the action at The Real Deal on the Hill and exalted Conley as a heady floor general. "He’s always had great players around him," Telep said. "He’s a great leadership and chemistry guy. He’s an extension of the coach out on the court. He’s unselfish and gets everyone involved. His high school and AAU teams have won a ton of games with him at the point.
" He’s an average guy in a lot of areas, but he has things that are difficult to measure. The things he does for a team’s chemistry can’t be measured. He can also make big shots and big plays at difficult times. "
Conley considers it a rare privilege to orchestrate his supremely talented AAU team.
" It’s awesome, "Conley said." We’ve got a lot of Division I players and some guys that will be stars in the NBA. It makes my job easier. I can make a normal pass and they’ll do something spectacular, like put the ball between their legs. That makes my pass look that much better. "
A play during the Heat’s blowout of the Birmingham Raptors was an example of a teammate turning a pedestrian Conley pass into a play that merits a spot on the highlight reel.
After a Raptor turnover, Conley pushed the ball up court. When he realized that Birmingham had stanched the initial fast break, he hit a trailing Oden with a pass that allowed the manchild to throw down a vociferous, two-handed dunk.
Oden’s emphatic finish elicited a chorus of oohs and aahs from the small gathering of spectators and almost divorced the rim from the backboard.
So spectacular was the culmination of the play, few could remember its genesis — a smart Conley decision followed by a basic twohanded chest pass. Conley made a difficult play look simple, processing what needed to be done in a fraction of a second.
If Conley, desired by every school that has a hoop and backboard affixed to a slab of hardwood, could make choosing a college that easy, it would be an even greater skill.
I'll bet there were about 4 people in all of NW Arkansas that read that article and had any idea what the hell this David Showers dude was talking about. Who does this guy think he is, Shakespeare?Difficult decision: College recruiters put heat on team minded Conley Jr.

Conley is visiting Wake this weekend and one of the things he will be looking at is class size and what the atmosphere is like while school is in session.
He mentioned that Ohio State and Wake are the two schools that stand out for him and that OSU was the bigger school while Wake is smaller. He stated June would be the earliest he would decide but he definetly wanted to decide before the next basketball season.
It looks like right now that Conley, Oden, Young, Cook and possibly Lighty will be on campus 7-9 May. For Conley and Oden it will be for an OFFICIAL visit. Cook most likely will be an unofficial and Young also. Their is a possiblity of Lighty also joining the group.also, on BN bb board, Kyle said that it looks like Conley, Oden and Thad Young are all scheduling officials for May 5-6. Cook will be there as well, and possibly lighty. Conley and Oden arent playing in the AAU tourney that weekend, so they will be in columbus for officials.

Skip Prosser had been waiting for this weekend for a long time, and now it’s finally over. The Demon Deacon coaches hosted a trio of top 50 players on official visits this past weekend and according to one, all had a good time.
