this is such an awesome and crucial recruiting win on so many levels I don't have the words to properly articulate it.
I think this is gonna be a 3-man class, but boy is it gonna be a special 3-man class.
iu's 247 guy (rabjohns) confirms that carton is no shorter than 6'2" in shoes.
The 5'11" measurement supposedly came from the U18 national team trials, but I cannot find an official measurement chart for that event. NBA Draft which generally takes their measurements from these types of events has him listed at 5'11". I am not saying they are right or Rabjohns is wrong, just that I assume this is where the question on his height stems from.iu's 247 guy (rabjohns) confirms that carton is no shorter than 6'2" in shoes.

as noted here, the source for the claim being shorter than 5'11' without shoes was apparent. i'm inclined, however, to believe that the listed heights for dj are wrong because at least a couple people have been adamant that they are wrong. excepting dj's own mother, there isn't much reason to question what rabjohns claims to be so sure about.
but, okay... dismiss all of that. a 5'10.5" guy having 6'6" wingspan? that makes dj a freak among freaks. look through the nba combine measurements and try to find another player shorter than 6'1" who has a 6'6" wingspan. good luck. a +7.5" wingspan isn't unheard of for a guy 6'5" or taller. but a +7.5" wingspan for a guy shorter than 6'1"? a guy supposedly shorter than 6'1" by almost a couple inches? that happens almost never.
what i am inclined to assume, though, is that carton's height fits his wingspan. a 6'2" height with a 6'6" wingspan makes sense.
Good read here from the Des Moines Register:
gotta give it up to li'l bro."Right when I told my dad in the car that I was going to go to Ohio State, my brother started screaming and he said, 'Yes! This is where I wanted you to go!'"
