The last guard we had that was compared to francis was kam.
yeah, i wouldn't mind seeing a link to that comparison. @wigmonEwww, who made that comp...lol
juan dixon =/= steve francisIf you are referring to the kam/dixon comparison, it was dickerson.
i question anything in a landgrant article when the author ends the scouting report with this:But it wasn't just dickerson that made the comparison according to landgrant.
"Williams is a hard nosed ball player who can play either guard position on the court. What he might lack in overall size, he makes up with a warrior's heart and toughness that many Baltimore natives have displayed over the years, including former Maryland and NBA guard Juan Dixon (who Kam reminds many scouts and even OSU assistant Dave Dickerson of)."
Williams will only get stronger and add muscle to his nearly 180 pound frame working with Ohio State strength and conditioning coach, Dave Richardson, who has done wonders with many former and current Buckeyes.
more atCOLUMBUS, Ohio -- When DJ Carton arrives on Ohio State’s campus on June 15, he’ll be doing so 10 days after the NCAA approved a rule extending the college 3-point line to the international distance.
The four-star point guard’s game hasn’t been defined by his shooting ability, but that doesn’t mean that the extended distance will be a weakness.
“One thing I worked on a lot this offseason is working on range and working on shooting deeper,” Carton told Cleveland.com. “I don’t think that rule will affect me too much, because I’ve been working out all summer from NBA range. Working at NBA range will help me against guys in college.”
The NBA line sits at 23 feet, 9 inches which is almost 2 feet farther than where Carton will be required to shoot from. But as former Ohio State player John Diebler said recently that very few players actually shoot right behind the line. Long-range shooting is something most perimeter players already have in their game.
For Carton, the extended line will spread the defense and can be to his advantage as a player who relies on his speed, athleticism and ball-handling ability to dominate games.
