South Florida guard Anthony Crater has been suspended after failing a second drug test, and the school is being investigated by the NCAA, according to a report citing unidentified sources.
FanHouse.com reported Thursday that Carter will miss 20 percent of the season once he becomes eligible on Dec. 12. Carter had been sitting out after transferring from Ohio State.
The report said that Carter also failed a drug test when he was with the Buckeyes.

TAMPA ? Point guard Anthony Crater, whose two seasons at USF were marked by off-court problems and injuries, was dismissed from the Bulls on Monday for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Instead of an experienced if inconsistent senior in Crater running the team next season, the Bulls will rely on a player with little or no Big East experience, likely junior college transfer Blake Nash.
"I am disappointed for Anthony," coach Stan Heath said in a statement. "He is a good young man who made a number of positive contributions to our program, but he made some mistakes and was unable to meet our team's standard."

Former Flint Southwestern All-Stater Anthony Crater finishing college basketball career at NAIA school

After signing with Ohio State and spending the past two years at the University South Florida, former Flint Southwestern All-Stater Anthony Crater is concluding his college basketball career at NAIA Georgetown College in Kentucky.
Crater has played in all eight games this season, starting at guard in five and helping the Tigers to an 8-0 start. Crater finished with 11 points, five asists and two steals in 27 minutes Monday as Georgetown, ranked eighth in the latest NAIA Division 1 poll, knocked off Virginia-Wise 75-54.
Crater is averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 rebounds a game in 24.8 minutes of playing time for the Tigers, who are coming off a 32-5 season.
Crater, who played parts of two seasons at USF, started 29 games last season, averaging 3.9 points and a team-best 4.6 assists per game. The highlight of last season for Crater was his length-of-the-court layup with 5.1 seconds left to upset Villanova in the first round of the Big East conference tournament in March. The Bulls were just 10-23 last season.
Crater was dismissed from the team last spring for a violation of team rules. Sources told CBSsports.com that Crater failed a third drug test. The penalty for a third positive drug test, according to the school?s substance abuse policy, is immediate dismissal.
