You read his bio:
1) Right away after graduating from high school, Porter moved to Samara, Russia, for two years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
2) Without any post-mission scholarship offers at Division I schools he wanted to attend, Porter set his sights on Utah State. Originally a walk-on, Porter was awarded a scholarship during the 2018-19 regular season.
3) Played 4 years at USU, got the 5th year (i.e. medical) since he was hurt early in his Freshman year.
4) Porter, who graduated last May with a degree in business administration and is wrapping up a masters degree at USU in human resources.
5) Married with a child expedited in August.
and wonder why he transferred to Ohio State. He will already have a masters degree, has to be 2 years older than the average 5th year college student, is married with a child on the way, and is not a NBA prospect.
Just sayin': Regardless (just like Doug Datish), I really think we'll be glad he is here on the team.
