If Sullinger is this good and he was only a Freshman, can you imagine how crazy he is going to be when he is a senior?????:yow1:

I look for Sullinger to be the Greg Oden of SF position

He has a lot of work to do with his outside game and ball handling to be considered a SF...I see him as more of a PF, until those skills develop...

I'm not even sure what "Greg Oden of the SF position" implies...

I think we should just anticipate having a highly skilled, highly athetlic WF and leave the comparisons to when his game is further developed.

FWIW, the Horton comparison still has me smiling...:)

Yea like Durant but a presence on the floor like the one Oden had.
a SF with Oden like presence? I agree with CBF40, looks like he will end up being a PF. Oden's presence on the floor was a once in a decade type thing. Seems like a bit too much build-up/expectations for a kid that won't be in college for 3 more years don't you think? Wow.

It's about time we had a recruit for 2010. I thought Thad Matta's recruiting was slipping there for a minute.

OSU lands another Sullinger

Friday, May 11, 2007

When J.J. Sullinger's Ohio State basketball career ended with a loss to Georgetown in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2006, with tears in his eyes he hugged his little brother, Jared, and whispered advice in his ear.
"You'd better play for coach [Thad] Matta," he said, "because I love that man."
How can a little brother ignore that? Jared Sullinger, a 6-7 freshman forward for Columbus' Northland High School, gave his oral commitment to Matta and the Buckeyes on Wednesday as the first member of Ohio State's 2010 recruiting class.

here are clips of northland against coffman, reynoldsburg, eastmoor, and brookhaven.

These are some nice clips. In one of them I saw Jared handling the ball up top. Devon Moore, number 40 on the Northland team, looks to be a very skilled player. I wonder which, if any, colleges are looking at him. I'll be going to Jared's and Bj's games next year. It's only around the way.

EDIT: Just saw the thread of him on here.

Remember the name Jared Sullinger.

In three years, he'll be an Ohio State Buckeye.

On Sunday, he was in town for the AAU 15-and-under national basketball final, in which he led team All Ohio Red to the tournament championship with a 72-67 overtime win over the Westchester (N.Y.) Hawks at Lake Orion High.

Sullinger scored 16 points in the final, including a pair of free throws to seal the win.
