PF/C Kosta Koufos (CSKA Moscow)

Kosta's wingspan is 7' 7", height is 7' 1", weight is 267lbs. short arms<---lol --i promise you if you stand next to him the last thing you will think of is short arms

If he indeed has a 7'7" wingspan and is 7'1'', then why isn't he dunking in peoples faces. With arms that long and his height, he would be dunking on people like Greg Oden. I have never seen a 7 footer shoot so many layups..

that being said.......he played a great all around game tonight.

Since the game @ MSU when KK only had 4 points...So 8 straight games KK has been in double figures every game...

Northwestern - 7-10 - 16 pts
Indiana - 8-15 - 18 pts
Michigan - 4-13 - 12 pts
Iowa - 5-9 - 10 pts
PSU - 5-10 - 10 pts
Minny - 3-8 - 15 pts (9-10 fts)
Illinois - 4-9 - 12 pts
Tenn. - 5-13 - 13 pts

So for 8 games he has averaged about 14 pts/game...I would say he has been our most consistent offensive threat...Lately he has been more efficient with his shots, mostly because he is taking better shots, and not trying to force shots...

He has also seemed to play with more effort on the defensive end as his offensive game has been flowing better...

Seems like maybe the light has went on some, but he still needs to make a more concerted effort to get on the boards and grab balls out of his area like Matta was talking about where he had multiple boards like that against IU...

If Kosta stays another year, we will truly see what he can do. He is kind of out of position. But, if you put BJ Mullens next to him, he won't be. I do agree that he is more of a European player, like a very young Dirk (Before he got his mean streak whilst inside).

He is incredibly talented, and I love seeing big players who can pull up for long range shots. He is also a lot more capable of handling people inside (His worst performance of the year on defense in the paint was against UNC. He has progressed a lot since that game).

I think when the other poster (JO) said that Kosta had short arms he was poking fun at me because I said that KK seemed to have problems handling the ball around the basket but JO can speak for himself.

KK finally seems to be coming together. He doesn't seem to be "roaming" that much. The one thing that still bothers me is that he seems to get very irritated when Matta takes him out to give him a rest or something. He gets a very irritated look on his face unlike other guys when they are given a blow.

Whats his draft status? I heard he's going, and as high as 9th, but I don't think he'd be drafted that high?

Is it really that bad of a class?

I mean no offense to KK, but he seems like a player who improves through time.

Did anyone think that Conley would declare for the NBA at this point last year? If KK continues to put up 15+ points and 10+ rebounds a night from here on out, make the Big Dance, and advance to the sweet 16 with KK continuing to put up these numbers, his stock would skyrocket.

(i know that is a lot of "ifs" though)

I stated about a month ago to take a "wait and see" approach with KK and his draft status......there is still a ton of basketball to be played.....personally I do not think he leaves this year.....but I didn't think Conley would either.

As of today, I think Koufus would be considered a "project" with high potential by many NBA teams.

I think most posters would agree with that statement. I know that I do. I still have a problem with his demeanor when he is taken out of the game for a quick rest.
