Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

"Especially not a big brand like Penn State. Penn State should be able to throw its weight around on this kind of issue."

Big brand....!?! What is Ped States brand now? That they systematically covered up child rape for decades....? That they were so cultish that they refused to accept the mountain of evidence directly in front of them that their head coach deliberately prevented the outing of a criminal child abuser and rapist....?

That's their brand now. Seriously, who doesn't hear the name Penn State and immediately think of the Paterno cover-up scandal? I mean other than the cultists in Creepy Valley....

My God! That meteorite can't arrive soon enough for me....:mad1:

Joe got in his car and turned the key
Headed on down the L.I.E.
Since Joe was cheap he drove a Volkswagen rabbit
And that put an end to Joe's cheap habit
The truck couldn't stop....
So the driver took aim....
And when he hit Joe Joe burst into flames
You're dead now, Joe.
You can't come back
You'd still be alive if you...

Never mind. Burn in hell you fuck

That’s a truly garbage article in relation to the law that was passed. All it does is standardize the application of the existing laws so that homosexual offenses are treated the same as heterosexual offenses.

Before this law, if an 20 year guy has consensual piv sex with his 17 year girlfriend and is charged with a crime, the judge has discretion as to whether the 20 year old must register as a sex offender, taking into account the nature of the relationship and sexual activity. Whereas if a 20 year guy has sex with his 17 year old boyfriend, he was automatically registered as a sex offender regardless of the circumstances and if it was consensual.

It’s still a crime for a 24 year old to have sex with a 14 year old, just like it always has been. But now the judge has discretion around the circumstances as to whether to apply the sex offender status based on the facts and circumstances.

Funny that the people having conniptions now didn’t have any issue when the law allowed the judge to have that discretion for straight people, but NOW it’s a fucking problem when it’s applied to gay people.

Not that I’m looking to open a debate on it or even defending the existing or new laws….I’m really not and this isn’t the appropriate forum. But that headline and article are such trash that I’d rather people not see the headline and jump to a conclusion that is patently untrue.

Even in victory (1999 Orange Bowl vs. Miami, though maybe it was the 2000 Orange Bowl), they cry about the officials. And I bet they weren't even Big Ten officials. Ha.

I was at the game in the Orange Bowl in 1999. PSU ran out of gas. Officials always seemed to throw a flag when PSU had a big play... but Fields 80 yd recpt was a thing of beauty. Loved walking out of the OB after the game.

edit - this was not the bowl game. It was Week #4 of the season. Penn State at Miami.

Dammit! I was all ready to have a conniption, but you talked me out of it.

Who else thinks this is funny?
https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threa...-2022-season-unranked-in-coaches-poll.321910/
First post is from some guy who posts an article that Penn State is going to open the season unranked. Second post makes sense. Basically, "Let's go show the world that we should be ranked." But the third post is awesome. I hope it's a joke:
Yeah, the national people aren't closely evaluating our talent. They look at the .500 record the last 2 years, the putrid performance in the bowl game and no big name stars.

I think the national people ARE closely evaluating your talent. The rest is correct.

This post is from someone who has been critical of Penn State, Joe Paterno, and the cult for a while. (He's probably been critical of them for a long time, but I've noticed him only recently.) So I'm sure this is all saracasm:
Those national people are not in touch with reality like all of us PSU folk are. They don't know how Franklin's HC prowess gives us a 14-point advantage, and just showing up in a PSU uniform adds another 7-10 points. They aren't intelligent enough to comprehend all of our nifty built-in advantages.

We should be ranked top-10 pre-season every year.

Note that at least one doof responded as though that was a serious comment.
