That's almost worse. I mean, the stat is kinda neat... when you lead with it... not when you get raked over the coals and every sports talk radio show has been blasting you and sayin "why didn't you just say 50 outta 55" Hope they hang on to that media team as long as scUM hangs on to Matty ... or longer.

So, some thoughts
1. 2019's lone SB participant was Sam Ficken....who sucked as a fill in for injurred super kicker Greg Zuerlein. He was on the team for 2 weeks in September. I have no idea how many of these schlubs were just like Ficken....I don't have the mental strength to keep looking at Penn Staters who have found success, albeit minor.
2. 1995's lone SB participant was a guy who transferred to Division 2 Bloomsburg (Go Huskies). That's fucking lame.
3. There are 77 individual players.
4. I bolded players who I thought were exceptionally good...based either on awards won or just remembering them.
5. Data was gathered from pro-football-reference.com.
6. I'm assuming Franco only has 1 cut out. It's likely he has dozens.

I think it sounds more like, "Go to Penn State where your 3-4 years won't be interesting enough for us to mention, and then you and your teammates will be scattered around the NFL well enough that there's a 50/55 chance each year that ONE of you or your PSU predecessors will make it to the Super Bowl."
And how did that work out for Hackenberg? 3 years at Penn State, and I think he left before 2016, so 0 wins against Ohio State, and 0 Big Ten championships. 0 pass attempts in the NFL? He tried to play in the Dingdong Football League (I forget what that was called) and led his team to 0-3 or 0-4 before being benched, and his backup brought his team from behind to win.
I mean, yeah, I'm cherry-picking data points. But isn't that what Penn State is doing? "Your claim to fame will be what you do AFTER you're at Penn State. So... you should come play for us."
