Now, one laughs at this. And one SHOULD laugh at the word "micro-agressions"!!! It is "left-wing political correctness" on steroids.

However, the Freeh Report included 119 recommendations to Penn State University.

Among those recos:

4.4. "Send a communication to all University students, faculty and staff at the beginning of the academic term that encourages the misconduct the reporting of misconduct, describes the channels for direct and anonymous reporting, and the University's whistleblower policy and protection from retaliation."

4.5. "Publicize the employee misconduct hotline regularly and prominently throughout the University on a variety of platforms including social media networks and the webpages of individual University components."

As I'm sure you know, part of the consent decree that Mark Emmert and Ed Ray (who, let's not forget, was on-stage with Emmert on 22-July-2012 despite admitting later that he never even read the Freeh Report) moved at warp speed to get signed demanded that Penn State implement all 119 of the recommendations.

Unintended consequences: if you were one who cheered on 22-July-2012 about "yeah, cram that consent decree down on Penn State!!! Screw them!!!" ------ well, you indirectly supported our nation's Universities (and don't kid yourself, this stuff will go national within the next few years) now spending their time being worried about "microaggressions."

Mark Emmert and the NCAA made several errors as regards the consent decree. Thinking that all 119 recommendations were worthwhile and worth implementing without ANY substantive discussion about the recommendations --- was among those errors.

I thought Ped State should have been eliminated as a place of higher education. Entirely.

Oh Jesus. Why, exactly? Just because they proved that people's safety comes second at best to the interests of the football team? Because not only did they allow children of the community to be harmed initially....but they also allowed more and more of the same due to their inactions, all to protect the myth of one man?




Oh wait. That's right. Those are actually valid reasons.

Exactly. The school is complicit. The athletic department and the school administration at-large should thank Almighty God Himself the NCAA is filled with a bunch of self-serving wimps who let them off easy. In no way should they exist as an athletic department or institution.

I'm still wondering if/when Clery Act violations are in the offing and how much of an impact they'll have - cut off federal grant money for the foreseeable future and everyone will re-evaluate their relationship with Ped State....

Then you should keep reading, because it gets better...

Powers said the bias reporting acts as a catharsis of sorts for students, acknowledging the public university has no right to hinder students’ First Amendment rights.

“Penn State stands firmly behind free speech and free expression, even in those instances when the views being expressed are disturbing or insulting, or the actions hurtful,” Powers told The College Fix. “The First Amendment doesn’t just apply to those who express ideas with which we agree. It also applies to those whose ideas we may find challenging, repugnant or even appalling. By providing an outlet for individuals to report bias they have seen or experienced, we are giving them an equal right to express their thoughts and feelings on the matter.”
