Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

So basically, that big rally of solidarity and commitment to PSU that the players had last week was actually just a meeting of all the dudes that no other schools contacted?

The peer pressure in this culture and isolated location has to be immense for these kids. If a kid wants to simply look at his options he can't let on that this is what he is thinking.

That said, there are now strong rumors that Akeel Lynch will transfer to Iowa once his summer classes are complete. That would be two of their top 4 RBs. That puts you one injury from dire straights. (And if Ferentz is true to his word it means Lynch contacted Iowa.)

I hadn't considered the summer term factor. If I am enrolled in classes and wanting to leave I keep my head down, my mouth shut, turn in my final, and run for the hills. They have already been hurt. But they are only a couple of transfers away from very significant impact on 2012.

That makes sense. Iowa' tailback position has been cursed for the past couple years, and there's a decent chance Lynch could be starting there by the end of the season (of course, the same could be said of PSU). PSU fans are also saying OSU is involved with Lynch, but I have a hard time believing that.

Ped Aggy fans are paranoid, delusional, cultist freaks.

Latest rumor is Lynch to BC. I hope any player worth a damn there transfers and they lose every game by a hundred.

Makes perfect sense if you think about it. Ped Aggy still thinks its 2011 where PedoPa is still coaching and Bollman is still coaching and recruiting for OSU ...

off topic, but Kiffin sure is a lucky SOB. Those WRs, Nelson Aghlor, Barkley, good oline, and now Redd with McNeil will be an absolute force. I expect them to be NC bound.

I cant wait for the paterno family statement on Redd too.

How sad that the NCAA really can't touch the trojans. I can see them being NC contenders this year, and for the next couple of years with little challenge beyond Oregon in the Pac 12. Picking off Redd only demonstrates how little affect the NCAA sanctions have on their recruiting. Probably makes Kiffin's job even easier as he can essentially cherry pick only those recruits he has at the very top of his list.

At least it means a few more ass whippin's for the Irish, so it's not all bad.:(

Bolden leaving isn't really a surprise. After all, he was all set to bail in Dec 2010 after the ascent of McMoxie, but dear Coach Paterno - who is all about doing things for the good of the kids - refused to release Bolden from his scholarship[*].

Bolden fell to third on the depth chart with the coaching change.

I don't really consider his move to be a part of the flood gates opening, rather it's his opportunity to escape a cult he'd been forced to stay apart of for another 20 months.
