They interviewed him via phone on the PHL news tonight. Basically:

* Respects the decision and will move forward
* He's a fighter not a quitter
* Big challenges ahead but that will show true character
* Happy that the team will be on TV and that there was no TV ban
* Players/recruits have some tough decisions to make
* Cannot comment on specific recruits

Pretty generic statements

Lee also said he was disturbed by what the Freeh report revealed regarding administrators, and his coach, looking the other way when it came to Sandusky's actions.

?The facts show that they didn?t report Sandusky and what happened, and because of that, more kids got hurt,? Lee said. ?That?s what the facts show. Obviously, it should have been reported right away. There should have been procedures in place ? this is what we do, investigation, and go from there, and more kids wouldn?t have been hurt. Actually, I think the Freeh report was a good thing because it showed where Penn State can go, how it can improve, so something so horrible will never happen again.?

Someday the gold rush will be over and the creek will run dry - so we must mine these little nuggets while we can.


The real reason NCAA is almost standing on the campus with a sign on begging the current players to transfer is that anyone with a ounce of ability as to analyzing a college football team knows that despite all which has gone down as of this minute, PSU, football team intact in 2012, has a real opportunity to win as many as all 12 games on the schedule...at least go a strong 9-3 and be real darn competitive in losses. Add to this premise it is very probable this may be the last year BOB will have an opportunity to go on the road and inflict some very humiliating losses on teams and fanbases who will come to their stadiums expecting to play the part of lions in the Colisseum to the unarmed, defenseless PSU in the arena, and ooops, what if it does not work out that way?




This is not just wishful thinking. Before Monday, that is a real possibility. It remains a possibility. Don't throw in the towel just yet.

This Orwellian turnaround by Lubrano is mind boggling.

Surma has hundreds of millions of dollars in investment capital at his fingertips and billions if he calls in a favor from the people who manage the steelworkers pension funds, what would be a tiny shift in these funds' managers and outside firms would be a gigantic windfall to a small investment company like Anthony Lubrano's. I'm not saying he's been bought off, but he's swimming with sharks right now. These sharks know how to play the game, and AL is going to need every bit of courage and integrity to stand his ground. If Lubrano & Co. suddenly start managing a bunch of money for US Steel or the Steelworkers Pension, well?????

His sudden silence and about face on Ericksen are troubling.

Is there any chance that some outside group seeks an injunction against the NCAA penalties? It would be ironic and add to the Schadenfreude if such a legal action delayed the eventual implementation for another year or so. In this sense, an athletic program is like the stock market- buyers (recruits) hate uncertainty.

I don't think so. You have to remember these are some of the most insular, stupid and simply inbred people on the fuckin planet here.

ANYTHING is possible from these mutants. And I fully believe whoever the hell this idiot tugspeedwell or whatever his name is hasn't probably left the state of Pennsylshitolia his entire fucking life, married his 1st cousin and probably has a 3 foot long mullet.
