BWI, the monitors, and myself have absolutely no control over what is on the Rivals Main Board, or what gets deleted from it. There's nothing any of us can do about any thread on that board.

As for the thread in question that's 3 or 4 pages back, there is nothing wrong with any posts in that thread. There were a number of offensive posts in the thread, but they have been removed. The OP in the thread is from Ray Blehar, and links to his latest blog piece, which is not at all about the incident in the shower.

As that incident remains the central piece of the JS saga that ties PSU to the rest of the saga, it should not surprise anyone that some PSUers wish to discuss it. The Grand Jury presentment does not align with the testimony given to the Grand Jury. Big Red's testimony before the GJ and in the preliminary hearings and the JS trial about what he saw and what he reported has been inconsistent, and his testimony does not seem to square up with the testimony of JoePa and C/S/S before the Grand Jury. In addition, JS was found not guilty of the worst charge related to that incident. That's a lot of material to digest, and to try to resolve.

Most PSUers are simply seeking the truth, even if the path to finding that often involves discussing or resolving things that are uncomfortable to some, and offensive to others. There is not an easy way to keep everyone happy in such a situation, though I think the monitors and myself do a pretty good job at maintaining a reasonable balance.

I still want to know what exact "facts" the cult disputes in the Freeh Report and what the real "facts" are.

Here's what I've been able to come up with:

Freeh Report: Joesus (along with Spanier, Curley and Schultz) knew about the previous investigations, and knew there had been reports of more abuse, but elected to keep it within their circle.

joesus cult member: Everyone is guilty, except Joesus. Unless them being guilty reflects poorly on Joesus; in which case the FACTS! and EVIDENTS clearly show they are innocent.

Actual facts: closer to the Freeh report than the cult will ever accept. In fact, I'm willing to bet that the Freeh report isn't as damning toward Joesus as actual facts would be.......

I still want to know what exact "facts" the cult disputes in the Freeh Report and what the real "facts" are.

Okay, so I actually went to the Paterno family's official response to the Freeh Report for this:

A. Error & Unsupported Opinion #1: Joe Paterno knew that Jerry Sandusky was a child molester and concealed it in 1998.
Facts & Evidence. The Freeh report does not cite a single witness interview or one shred of evidence establishing that Joe Paterno knew that Jerry Sandusky molested anyone in 1998.
[He might not have "known" that Sandusky molested anyone in 1998, but he sure as fuck knew that he was under investigation for it which would cause any reasonable human being to establish a pattern of behavior and take the 2001 accusation more seriously despite whatever history they may have had. This is total bullshit.]

B. Error & Unsupported Opinion #2: Joe Paterno lied in his Grand Jury Testimony, particularly about the 1998 incident.
Facts & Evidence. Joe Paterno, at the age of 84, was interviewed by the district attorney, separately testified for 7 minutes before the grand jury in 2011, and honestly conveyed what he remembered about the 2001 incident reported by Mr. McQueary ten years earlier.
[This is a meaningless dispute that makes no difference on what an evil old bastard Paterno was. I'm sure it is important for the cult to establish the Saint Paterno would never tell a lie, but no one outside of the cult gives a shit.]

C. Error & Unsupported Opinion #3: Joe Paterno concealed the 2001 incident reported by Mike McQueary as part of a 14-year conspiracy to avoid the consequences of “bad publicity.”
Facts & Evidence. The Freeh report does not cite a single email, conversation, handwritten note, calendar entry, voicemail, statement or other record evidence establishing that Joe Paterno was concerned about consequences of bad publicity associated with the 2001 incident. Dr. Berlin, former FBI profiler Mr. Clemente, and former United States Attorney General Dick Thornburgh all have concluded that Mr. Freeh’s opinion in that regard is baseless. The Freeh report does cite limited evidence in the context of allegations about other individuals’ concern about publicity in 2001, but it unfairly and without support imputes that concern to Joe Paterno.
[They are once again focusing on details like the phrase "bad publicity" to establish their "facts" rather than focusing on the larger fact that Paterno was the most powerful man on campus who watched a twice accused child molester bring children into his locker room for over a decade while doing absolutely nothing at all to even check into the situation much less put a stop to it. Conspiracy or no conspiracy (and he undoubtedly was an active part of the coverup) his inaction alone is damning. Focusing on the phrase "bad publicity" is such a bullshit and transparent tactic to deflect from the main accusation.]

D. Error & Unsupported Opinion #4: Jerry Sandusky’s Office was “steps away” from Joe Paterno’s office, and, as one of the most “powerful” people at Penn State, Joe Paterno must have known but concealed that Sandusky was a pedophile.
[I don't even feel like copying and pasting the response. Just like focusing on the phrase "bad publicity" is a bullshit diversionary tactic, so is focusing on the phrase "steps away." I love how they are putting utterly inconsequential shit like where the offices are located together with the main accusation. The one is technically incorrect so they both are! They have used insultingly idiotic leaps in logic like that in every single one of their responses so far.]

E. Error & Unsupported Opinion #5:
A Janitor who apparently witnessed Sandusky’s sexual misconduct in the Fall of 2000 chose not to report it for fear of losing his job because Joe Paterno must have known that Jerry Sandusky was a child molester and actively created a culture to harbor a pedophile.
[This doesn't even make sense (they are clearly setting up and knocking down a strawman here) and is more meaningless detail to divert from the larger picture.]

F. Error #6:
The Freeh report is neutral and free of bias.
[Stupid and meaningless. No one outside of the cult gives a shit.]

G. Error #7:
The Freeh report adequately evaluated Joe Paterno’s lifetime of integrity in reaching its conclusions.
[Stupid and meaningless. No one outside of the cult gives a shit]

So yeah, there it is. It takes 20 minutes to see that the cult's official accounting of the FACTS AND EVIDENTS is total and utter bullshit. I'm glad I took the time to go through their official response. It takes away any lingering doubt about the credibility of the cult.

So there's never been been a criminal--murderer, rapist, molester, etc.--who otherwise had a "lifetime of integrity". One needs only to look at all the pedophiles in the church...

That one is utter bullshit and misdirection. The most damning e-mail in the whole thing is between Spanier and either Curley or Schultz. The famous "after speaking with coach" e-mail. And yes, they don't say the decision is based upon avoiding bad publicity, they say "it would be the humane thing to do." So, the Pedternos set up a similar--but not completely factual--strawman scenario and then knock it down and proclaim INNOCENT, FACTS!, EVIDENTS, 409, BEAT NEBRASKA!

Good god, I would love to see a real good litigator get Jayped on a witness stand and completely release the kraken on this bullshit. I'd fucking pay for a front row seat. I've known a couple of high-end, big firm litigators, and they're usually assholes who don't know when to turn their shit off, but they absolutely live to destroy something like this in open court. The last thing in the world that the Pedterno family wants is for their sorry asses to be sitting in a deposition or, even better, a witness stand and have some asshole litigator from Sidley Austin or Winston & Strawn representing the NCAA or PSU go after them. ScottPed will find out exactly what kind of a lawyer he is the moment he shits himself half way through the deposition.

Well, Greg Doyel at least releases the Kraken on the Jay lawsuit..hilarity ensues. For example, the hilarity that PSU fans who wanted to see him burned at the stake because he sucks at coaching now say he was a legitimate head coaching candidate at large DI schools :slappy:

Doyel is awesome. He's been releasing the kraken on the cult from day one, and then the next week writes a column making fun of their comments.
