Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

http://www.centredaily.com/2014/03/15/4087126/in-survey-alumni-tell-penn-state.html
Here are some of the results from the survey, by percentage:
98%: satisfied with their experience as a student

The article is about how a majority of the alumni strongly support the university publicly recognizing Joe Paterno and his 61 years, etc. But I thought that this one answer stuck out, to me. I don't think you can get 98% of any group of people to be satisfied with anything. God could appear and ask a bazillion people whether they were satisfied with oxygen, and we wouldn't get 98% to say they're satisfied. That seems to be kinda cult-ish, to me. However, some of the other survey results disagree with my "cult-ish" label. For example, only 67% of the respondants said they would recommend Penn State to a prospective student.

Also, from the BWI thread (I couldn't find it in a quick scan through the real story):
Also, note that this survey indicates that the percentage of Penn State alums who think it was WRONG to dismiss Joe Paterno has decreased from 75% (in May 2012) to 30% (in December 2013). That's a hell of a drop.

81% want the restoration of Joeped. That's the overwhelming number of alumni, not a few crazies on BWI. That place is completely fucked until the older alumni die off. Their entire view of the university is wrapped up in the Paterno cult of personality and grand experiment myth.

That's because they cannot recommend the school until Joesus is restored.

Loved this from Keystone Politics....Reply

1. This story was clearly fed to the Inquirer by Frank Fina, a former top deputy to Tom Corbett when he was Attorney General.

Kathleen Kane is probing Fina's botched handling of the Sandusky case, and the Corbett team is anxiously awaiting the release of that report.

The release of the Sandusky report will of course be one of the major events in the 2014 race for Governor, and the Fina and Corbett people have been encouraging the view that it would somehow be inappropriate to release the report during election season. Heaven forbid Tom Corbett be held accountable for the performance of his prior elected office.

It's pretty hard not to come away thinking that this is Fina trying to throw some dirt on Kane ahead of the release of the Sandusky report. If he can color her actions as politically motivated in this case, people may be more receptive later when he inevitably says the Sandusky probe, or the timing of its release, is politically motivated.

Ok the story they are referencing is that the newly minted Democratic AG just threw out an investigation begun by her Republican predecessor with 5 local Democrats on tape taking bribes. The reason? It was racist (they were all black).

Her response to anyone criticizing her for doing it? They are sexist.

This lovely woman also recently prosecuted a local nurse for helping her sick father end his life. A judge threw the case out of court.

So just to be clear, they are going to use the "findings" of this political hack in regards to the Sandusky investigation and spin it into some kind of vindication of Sandusky which obviously clears any stain on the good name of Joesus and should restore the holy wins.

My grandmother used to say that someone was lower then a snakes gut in a tire rut if she thought you a particularly worthless sumbitch.. If you find yourself siding with a corrupt politician and a serial child molester to vindicate your dead cult leader, you may have found that tire rut of which she spoke.
