As much as I hate BWI and the Paterno Cult, the people leading the university (and even bob) seem pretty decent. Now that they've flushed out Paterno and his toadies, there's probably more hope for the university than at any time since they joined the big ten. It'll be interesting to see what kind of a president they can get and if he'll be strong enough to marginalize the crazies.

Who in their right mind would take that job though? Having to deal with those alums and cultists would seem damn near impossible.

Good question. Go back a few pages in this tthread, and you'll see that they hastily canceled a Friday press conference announcing the hire from the SUNY system. I joked that Nancy Zimpher (who would have been an A-list hire) pulled the ultimate buckeye troll job on them. I was fully ready to surrnder the crown. It turns out that they weren't even in the running for Zimpher. The SUNY figure in question. It was a med school dean, not even one of the chancellors at one of the better campuses. That's how low they are scraping, and its not going to get better with both the Ohio State and Michigan jobs also open
