Re: Tugspeedwell, I see that you are lurking...Reply If Tugspeedwell is linked to another NCAA program it is an actionable infraction. All members of the NLC receive information listing the restrictions on communicating with potential recruits. If any cares or has the time to research this baffoon and are able to connect him to any opther school please do it, publish the info and forward it to the NCAA.

Really... this is little more than a modern day version of stealing the rival team's mascot the night before the big game.

The only difference is that nothing was actually taken... Something was actually given. Like a case of herpes, given... but I digress.

My Final Comment On Tugspeedwell The Fraud: Learning Things...ReplyI think most people have gotten the basic outlines of the Facebook fraud involving the Rally For Resignations. One guy had an idea for a rally, asked for some help, and a few guys volunteered. As it turns out, one volunteer who represented himself as a Penn Stater was actually a troll who decided he wanted to flame Penn State by working on the rally and then at the last minute turn into the scammer he was. He was actually quite helpful with the social network end of things, although he made no contributions to the planning of the rally. At about the time the rally started on Saturday, he changed the Facebook website into an insulting and trash-filled farce. It had no effect on the rally itself, and the fraudster only matters in his own mind--and on the Pitt board.

Here's something to think about. I had no reason to mistrust the guy: he was making a positive contribution to the effort, and seemed to be a solid citizen in every respect. I and the few other organizers trusted him to be who he said he was, and we were deceived. Perhaps we should have suspected something because he gave us no input on the rally content at all. Maybe I should have checked his IP address to see if somebody with that address had been a "bad actor" on the BWI boards before. I didn't do that. Given the modest embarrassment to some Penn Staters, I blame myself for the turn of events. I should have done more to make sure everything was on the up and up.

There are people, probably many law enforcement individuals, prosecutors, and the like, who are comfortable seeing villainy and evil all around us. They are willing to suspect there are monsters in our midst. The rest of us probably need people like that. But for the rest of us, we are called to see people as fundamentally decent and relatively honest--because we could not see the world any other way and keep our sanity in it. Sadly, serial killers and serial child molesters frequently are successful predators for long periods of time because most people are trusting and hopeful. And sad little people like tugspeedwell will probably con somebody else because he can--because there will be other people he can do that to.

I have believed from the very beginning that the Sandusky scandal reflected the reality that people trusted him to be something other than a monster, and they were wrong. Louis Freeh is clearly someone who suspects motives and intentions--and believes that everybody else does as well. Hence his belief that people at the top of Penn State's power structure must have suspected Sandusky, and must have consciously chosen to not pursue an investigation. Like many people, he assumes that everyone sees the world as he does, and he is wrong.

From the world of trolls can come a little wisdom.

He actually bolded that himself...I just made it bigger...

They seem to hold that quote with some regard...as if it's something to be proud of. :so:

Dumb motherfuckers. Paterno never, not once, said that he should have done more. He very specifically stated that he "wished he had done more". There was no admission of any culpability.

Only like 84 people live in State College...

Population:
Columbus: 797,434
Rhythmic Slappy Valley: 42,034

So, my highly scientific calculations show peds per capita as such:
Columbus: Approx. 1/3127
Rhythmic Slappy Valley: Approx. 1/3502 (or 1/3233 if that 12 doesn't include Tickle Monster).

Yeah, significant. Somebody with a BWI account please post that.
