Doesn't matter anyway, it's clear that GS went to Harmon. Therefore Reply
because of Joe, the 2001 incident made it to police. Joe could have stopped it right there with McQuade, his dad, Dranov, but NO, Joe reported to GS/TC and that got it to the police (Harmon). Joe fulfilled his legal and moral responsibility.

Here's my current view on the cast:

Spanier - not a bad guy, just incompetent

Schultz - I think he's the one who covered up

Curley - could be in same camp as Spanier but maybe closer to Schultz

Harmon - not sure yet, could be co-conspirator with Schultz

Paterno - great man, acted impeccably

McQuade - goober

TSM - dirty as all get out

Corbett - dirty as all get out

BOT Old Timers - pathetic, small men just interested in covering their asses

Love how they all just literally make shit up. So, Schultz is now the Police Commissioner. Give Bushwood time, I am sure he is going to make the case that Schultz is actually head of the local FBI office, Homeland Security, and Head Guard at the credit union down the road.

They have a credit union in slappy valley? Wow, I'm impressed. Must be run by the cult members.

So ucf got NCAA violations and the Ped State fans are celebrating. Which idk why, since we aren't a big 10 school. But now they are saying oh UCF only got a year, but we got punished longer for a non football problem. Seriously, wtf is wrong with these people? Do they not have a life?

So UCF actually violates NCAA Rules, unlike Penn State, and only gets 1 year?

Penn state raped little boys. Uncomparable, and if you can't see the difference I hope you never had kids.

Ummm, it was actually a retired former employee, not "Penn State" who committed the crimes. Then a few administrators (apparently) didn't take proper action; their trials have yet to start!
So get your facts straight and aim your venom at the accused individuals, not an entire university and surrounding community. Otherwise, you'll have trolls condemning all of UCF and all of their fans and all of their players for the actions of a few.

They have a life, but that life revolves around St. Joe and the football program. If they were to step back and see that the administration was a complete failure from the top on down in this mess and stop trying to canonize Joe, then they would see that the brand of Penn State IS the football program and that is what they wanted to protect.

Ok. Taking aside the fact that he worked for the university, which image is worse as a representation for your school?

I always wondered if the legality of the Freeh Report would be challenged. It was done at the request of the BOT and not legal authorities, so that would seem a flaw for the NCAA to use to rule sanctions. I assume that the NCAA looked at that weakness before ruling? I'm sure that the Penn Staters For Responsible Stewardship Group (lawyers)are thinking just that.
Thoughts?

The legality of the Freeh report? It was perfectly legal for PSU's BOT to commission the investigation. As for the NCAA.... As already discussed, they are not bound by the same rules as a court (ie due process, hearsay, etc.) and the BOT signed off on the Freeh report as their response to the November letter from Emmert.

There is no "weakness" that I can see..

Seems to me the State Penn BOT 'signed off' on the report and acknowledged it as FACT which then allowed the NCAA to act.

Had the BOT balked at the report's findings, NCAA would then have undertaken their own investigation, afaik.

It would be amazing if the Freeh report was discredited/'thown out' and the NCAA then found serious violations on their own (i.e. preferential discipline of players), driving more punitive measures than currently in play. I believe this PS4RS group (or whatever the [censored] they're called) is playing with fire.
