Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

One thing I like about Buttchin - when a stupid fucking reporter asks a stupid fucking yes-or-no question, he gives a yes-or-no answer.

Good luck with your column, intrepid reporter. Maybe next time you'll put a little thought into asking an open-ended question so you get more than a one-word response.

National Collegiate Athletic Association v. Tarkanian 488 U.S. 179 (1988)

Recap:
In the second, NCAA v. Tarkanian (1988), the justices determined that the governing body of college sports was under no obligation to extend due process

You seem to be under some impression that my troll doesn't agree with Mack_Daddy.

I'll see if I can slip it in somehow though.

It really amazes me that there is such a lack of understanding of the societal impact of what occurred with most of the Ped posters. We are talking about people who were at the ultimate "trust" level with these kids and the community that totally violated that trust. Setting aside the NCAA ruling for a second, what about the egregious acts that were undertaken by not only Sandusky, but the enablers around him do they not understand in their woe is us diatribe?

Have you ever volunteered to do community service or coach? The scrutiny that folks are now placed under is truly daunting. I just applied to do meals on wheels delivery and I swear they wanted every piece of personal information about me they could get. I am not saying that is wrong, but these types of violations of trust and community make it harder on those who truly wish to help others and those entrusted with finding the individuals to provide that help. I'm sure it doesn't help with costs and funding either, right.

Please, Ped Staters pull your heads out of those darkest reaches and set yourself outside of this cult circle you reside in and see what the rest of us see. It will truly be enlightening for you.

A really disgusting quote from the article, a transcript of a phone message that Sandusky left for Victim #2 in September of 2011:

The second [message to Victim #2] was a week later, Sept. 19, 2011: "Just calling to see you know whether you had any interest in going to the Penn State game this Saturday. Uh. If you could get back to me and let me know, uh, I would appreciate it and when you get this message, uh, give me a call and I hope to talk to you later. Thanks. I love you."

So Sandusky was using Penn State tickets as a lure right up until September of last year. But this was not a football issue.... :shake:

Only three posts into the thread on BWI before somebody floats the idea that he might discredit the ginger and thus justify Paterno's inaction.

And then there's this wretched white trash excuse for humanity.

Re: FC: Victim #2 comes forward - link** Reply

This doesn't match what Amendola said. Amendola said they knew alleged victim 2's identity and had interviewed him and said he denied the encounter was sexual. So what gives? So now this kid wants a payout? What's to stop every broken home kid from Clinton County from coming out of the woodwork and demanding a payout?

I wish one of these TV courtroom drama series (I assume they are still making them) would do an episode with a hypothetical case based on PSU where the Alumni/former players/wacko-nut-jobs had managed to get their case to court. I want to see what a creative writer could do with the scene where Emmert or Erickson was on the stand. How would the line of questioning go? What is the case even about from a legal standpoint? I just can't hold it in my mind.

Ming the Mercilous was Flash Gordon's nemesis.

WELL it's not MY FAULT that Buck Rogers NEVER got into really DEEP space. If he had he'd have RUN into ol' Ming too.

BTW Ming had his way with SANDUSKY, but Flash managed to keep that FACT HIDDEN from the MEDIA.

I love how all these Ped Staters are talking so horribly about Erickson, and he probably singlehandedly saved the school from total annihilation.

(sorry if posted already - been gone for a day or so):

Report: Penn State faced 4-year 'death penalty'

Penn State faced a multiyear shutdown of its football program had it not agreed with the sanctions imposed by the NCAA earlier this week, university President Rodney Erickson told ESPN.

The football program at Penn State faced a four-year "death penalty," a complete cessation of football activities, Erickson said, according to the ESPN report, as well as fines well in excess of the $60 million levied.

The four-year death penalty option was confirmed by NCAA President Mark Emmert, who said in a separate interview with ESPN that what the network termed "a core group of NCAA school presidents" had agreed on the unprecedented sanctions.

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/07/26/report-penn-state-faced-4-year-death-penalty/

I also personally love this quote from the same article:

Penn State's board of trustees was not involved in those negotiations, and some members had expressed anger at not being allowed a vote on whether to approve the agreement with the NCAA, according to ESPN.

Doesn't feel good to be not included on things, eh? Pretty much what's happened over the last 50 years with Joe Pa at the helm?
