Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I keep seeing it referenced, but outside of football and fund raising for his employer, what were all these great things this great man accomplished? I'm not saying they don't exist, but I've just never seen them, whether in list form, or a narrative.

Statue Tear Down Day (or night) is going to be fucking incredible. You know it'll be the worst kept secret in Rhythmic Slappy Valley, and the news vans and helicopters will be on hand to document the entire debacle: the human shields, random assaults on the construction workers, the loon who is going to go full hippy and chain himself to JoePa, the chants, the tears, the riot.

I god damn better not be on a plane to somewhere when this goes down. I want at least 50" of screen, a place to put my feet up and half a bottle of good rye.

I honestly can't even wrap my head around the awesomeness of it.

he donated money to the school and he graduated a ton of players.

because HE graduated those kids. it was all him. it wasn't the easy course load, or the student working hard, or the tutors.....it was Paterno.

it always makes me laugh when football fans say their school graduates players. that doesn't sound like a positive to me. you're saying "this school is so easy, dumb football players who don't have time to study still graduate." except you're not even saying that the student graduates....you're saying the school graduated the student. that just sounds wrong.

I have to admit, Audibles has really stepped up their game and is giving BWI a run for their money. Champions are born of adversity, and Audibles has met the challenge.

Re: Now the media is attacking Penn State academics

Here's hoping for a cataclysmic event so that people can talk about something else.

Hoping for a cataclysmic event, which I think it's safe to assume by its very definition includes mass death, so that people will stop talking bad about JoePa, Penn State and the football team. Shine on you crazy bastard.

Their posters win the prize by referring to Pedterno's alma mater as "The University of Brown." Apparently it recently "ran by" some "morons." I guess the morons were going too slow...

Exactly. They recruit better student athletes than anyone else. On recruiting trips they have chocolate chip cookies Sue bakes (assuming ScottPa doesn't eat them first). It's a leave it to Beaver way of doing things. Success with Honor.

Too bad Jerry didn't love Beaver. This would be an entirely different scenario.
