Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

So how did Barkley gain all those yards?
In 2017, Saquon Barkley failed to rush for 100 yards in 8 of his final 12 regular season games at Penn State.
- He averaged under 61 ypg in those 8.

In 2016, he also failed to rush for 100 yds in 8 of 12 regular season games.
- Against Sparty, he ran 12 times for 14 yards. 1.2 ypc
- My personal favorite, two weeks before that, 33 rushes for 58 yds vs Indiana. 1.8 ypc!

James Franklin has been there for 9 years already? Wow time flies.

This year makes Year #9. Paterno was fired in 2011, and their DC - Bradley, or something? - took over to finish the year. 2012 was Billy O'Brien, and he coached in 2013. Ohio State beat them 63-14 and he promised to "remember some things" about that game. Then he quit. 2014 was Franklin's first year. 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 = 9 years.

In 2017, against Ohio State, I think Barkley got positive yards on about half of his final 20 carries.

My favorite Franklin story is when he used 2 Penn State time outs and 1 Ohio State time out to decide that the guy with 25 carries for 175 yards (7.0 ypc) shouldn't pick up the first down on 4th and 5 - the guy with about 46 yards on 15 carries should try to pick it up.
