Leave the Big Ten? What are they going to do, revisit Joe Pa's pre-Big East idea of creating their own conference? Even he knows that was a dumb idea.

I guess if they could get Georgetown, Villanova, and UConn to sign on they'd get what they really want - a conference they could dominate on a regular basis.

They basically want Clemson' situation in ACC or Notre Dame's situation as Independent.

Play a few select ACC, midtier B1G, and crumbling PAC schools to reach 9 games of P5, occasionally play a game overseas, have their own exclusive tv deal with a station that doesnt carry any other conference (will shill for them / complain 1sided about everything), and get a pass for weak scheduling because technically they squeezed 8-9 beatable P5 teams in.

Of course, ND is playing Iowa State in some random brand bowl.
But they typically do get all the breaks necessary to punch above their weight and get embarrassed on national tv.

It's almost as though they have a need to abuse those programs too small and weak to put up a struggle, to metaphorically pin them up against a wall (tile perhaps) in some isolated and confined space with nobody watching (such as on the ACC Network) .
