Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Best case scenario is a right proper rogering. Second best is a close game with a couple of close calls going Ohio State's way. Preferably early in the game so they can work out their convoluted theories as to how that changed the entire flow of the game.

I vote for a full on plungering with a couple of 50/50 calls in Q1 that BWI can still whine about "changing the whole tone of the game"

By all rights, Ped State should have been SMU'ed. Burnt to the fucking ground. But the NCAA saw that when they did that to SMU, they stepped on their own dicks by ending a money stream. They will NEVER do it again, no matter how egregious (cough-SEC-cough) the violations. It will stay on the books as a possible punishment to show that "hey, we care about the sport, blah, blah, blah, more than the money", but it will never be implemented again.

So the mutants over at BWI are now busy ripping on Shelly.....how special of them because you know Sue Paterno is right there with Mother Theresa in her saintlyhood....

If Shelley Meyer is rattled by "Urban Liar" t-shirts, she needs a thicker skin.

It is what it is --- the poster above me is using the moniker "Ped State." I'll be hearing that as a PSU alum until I die. That moniker doesn't bother me.

And "Urban Liar' will be a moniker used by folk (not just PSU folk) for the rest of Urban's career.

Shelley actually contacted JCOSU to get her message on to BuckeyePlanet.....so this response makes sense.

It has been used by some Florida fans for 7 years, which is why the first response to it I saw here was “unoriginal”

Sure it was unoriginal.

I wouldn't buy or wear an "Urban Liar" t-shirt. It's tacky, it's tribal, and using phrases like that lowers the sophistication level of a conversation.

But I'll admit it --- I'm one of the folk ("michnittlion" as my user name) in that thread on BWI that is critical of Shelley. She's acting like a victim here - implying she and her family are a victim of the PSU fan base ("lowest thing I have seen from a fan base") while not acknowledging the reason those t-shirts exist in the first place.

Those t-shirts exist because, in the words from OSU's own internal report: "As a result (of his comments at B1G Media Days), Meyer has cast doubt on his own honesty in a way that reflects adversely on him, the football program and Ohio State."

It is what it is. She's not a victim. And though it may be hard to criticize a loved one, her husband, IMO, made mistakes.

wait, wait, wait

Penn State fans telling other people they aren't victims?

:slappy:

Oh I do love me some irony

Thanks

whatever you want to call her.

As long as Shelly is clear that the only real victims of any of this are Mike Mauti, the 2012 Penn State football team....and their fans of course. They are clearly victims of the treasonous and cowardly BOT.

Pretty sure Franco is a victim

and cardboard Joe

I don't play the victim either (1) here or (2) in my life as a whole.

But fair enough --- I can't tell Shelley "she's not a victim" because I'm a Penn State fan. So I'll ask you. You're not a Penn State fan. Do you think Shelley Meyer is being victimized by people selling "Urban Liar" t-shirts?
