Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

That was also the game a guy poured beer on my mom's head because she stood up to cheer for a TD with the rest of us. My mom couldn't tell you anything about football or Ohio State past what she's picked up from us watching games......she doesn't care. But she went wtih us, and when we all stood to clap for a TD, she got the brunt of some piece of [Mark May]'s fragile psyche. All those reports people keep coming back from Penn State games with that you see on message boards are surely accurate. It's because those people aren't Ohio State fans. Of course Penn State fans will be nice to Minnesota and Purdue. The story changes when they're likely to lose the game.
I want to see a death match between @BuckeyeNation27's hatred of Penn State and @Jaxbuck's hatred of Michigan.

A friend of mine played at Ped State and loved that coaching staff. He made some bad decisions with his support of them after the Sandusky exposure. . He felt he owed them some loyalty. I find that shocking based on everything that came out.

Guy from my HS played for Paterno. He's one of the sainted "lettermen" who signs every pro-Paterno, anti-BoT petition that these fools put out. It really was a cult that permeated every level of that university and town.

Yep, I went to HS with a very prominent former PSU player/cultist. It's going to take at least a generation (20 years) for the cult to go through deprogramming - and that is only if the BoT is committed to the eradication of the cancer within that university.

That story sounds familiar. Either you've mentioned it before or someone else here has a similar story. Either way, I know the reports I heard after that 2003 game were wrong. Or my memory of those reports is wrong (likely). But I remember hearing/reading about what a class act the Buckeye fans said the Penn State fans were after that 2003 game. That's why I was so surprised with the stories I heard after 2005. I actually didn't believe most of them at first - I figured they were exaggerations or "stretching the truth". I think I read an article saying that the director of the marching band said he'd never take the band back there because of the fans, and I figured that there's more to the stories than just exaggerations. Then there's the video of the OSU fan getting blind-sided before the 2007 game (by a "Pitt fan", according to the cult). I'm sure there's countless other stories, but I already didn't like them before the Paterno scandal. And, yeah - I called it the "Paterno scandal" on purpose. If he had reported Sandusky to the police like a man, I probably wouldn't be so anti-PSU.

Wonder how the fact that everyone is recording everything now changes the likelihood that someone would do that.

Oh, never mind...

Don't you know those were Pitt fans who showed up in Ped State gear to tarnish the reputation of the great and merciful Joesus?

You're not going to do any better at convincing me than BWI.

That kind of thing makes me laugh about that stupid fanbase. They can't understand that their fanbase just MIGHT have some bad eggs. It's much easier for them to believe that they're as pure as the freshly-fallen snow. Anyone who has ever uttered the name "Joe" is automatically better than anyone who hasn't. Anyone who has ever worn a Penn State shirt is better than anyone who hasn't. Anyone who would root for the team can do no wrong. On the other hand, if you're a Pitt fan, you're an idiot. If you're a Buckeye fan, you're classless. If you're a Rutgers fan, I don't know... They can't fathom that people within fanbases can be different from each other.

Also, like the 2006 pants-pooping episode (which was a photo-shop job by a Buckeye fan, as proven because one of the guys on BWI remembers reading someone boasting about it on Bucknuts), they can't fathom that an 80-year-old man (or maybe he wasn't quite 80, yet) just MIGHT have been a little under the weather, and just MIGHT have trusted a fart more than he should have. Nope - he's infallible. Must have been a photo-shop job by a rival fan who wanted to besmirch a legend.

Anyone ever hear Michael Robinson talk about his vote for worst CFB fans?

The current series is at 8-13. But consider how 2002, and 2005 were blatantly stolen by the referines... and it's 10-11. There were other years with lesser shenanigans... like 2014 with the BS offsides that cost PSU a real chance to win. PSU should lead the series.

FC: Big Ten officials apparently not very popular in GA

They’re not very popular in Big 10(14) country either.....except in the states of Ohio and Michigan.

And that exception is usually void on one day late each November.

Biggest loser from last night's game? yup, you guessed it - Delany

Agree. Thought they missed some pretty obvious calls.
Wow its nice to say that and not immediately be called a "homer" and "whiner".
That being said did anyone recognize those refs? I didnt.
looked like they spent the entire first half trying to figure out which team was Ohio State or Michigan
