Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

If the cult is looking for a wine and cheese crowd to tell them how great they are for a month before a game they are going to a little disappointed.

So, serious question --- any recommended stuff to do in Jacksonville (presuming you are from there)?

I'm flying into Charleston, SC as I have a friend to stay with there (also MUCH cheaper), but wondering whether to spend an additional day/night in Jacksonville.

I lived there for a while, not from there

Things to do depends on your tastes I guess.

You in to monster trucks?

LOL --- I sort of figured Jacksonville might be a monster truck sort of place.

I like some outdoors stuff --- hiking & deer hunting --- but not so much golf or the beach. Also enjoy historical sight-seeing, which well: Jacksonville isn't Savannah or Charleston.

Tending to think I'll only be in Jacksonville for the game. :-)

If you have time, head south on I-95 to St. Augustine (about a 45 minute drive) if you like historical places.

It is the oldest city in the USA, and it has a pretty cool pirate past. :pirate:

If you don't like golf or monster trucks/tractor pulls/lawn mower racing the choices get fewer.

St Augustine is kind of cool for historical site but like most things in Florida it's touristy and you have to engage locals at some point.

How many pairs of jorts do you own? That will determine how many nights you can stay.

How about a round of Golf? I'm guessing there might be some times available at the TPC Sawgrass.

The Cult is already whining and crying that the Georgia fans have made "disgusting, off color jokes" about PSU in a thread on Georgia's free board.

The classic thread in question:

http://uga.forums.rivals.com/threads/waiting-on-first-off-color-penn-state-comments.124442/

"When the big hand's on the little hand, it's time for PENN STATE FOOTBALL!!!"

:slappy:

If an older woman who likes younger men is called a cougar, is an older man that likes young boys called a Nittany Lion?
