Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

WHAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT?????

Someone please explain to me what on Earth Franklin was thinking in recruiting him at all? He's soiling the institution built by Dear Leader!!!
Luckily it was found out before it was too late. Just know that the kid is dying to go to Penn State, Penn State wishes they could admit him, but their unprovable highest of the high academic standards just means he'll have to play for somebody else...all the while he'll be thinking of good ol Innocent Joe.

The cult and cult members on the BOT don't care about "outside" opinions. They believe what the NCAA is doing now justifies everything they have been saying. They won't stop till the "409" is restored.
The "statue" is coming out!

Re: Adam McLean decommits
My 2 cents on football recruiting in general is:

Don't get too high when a kid commits. Don't get too disappointed when one decommits. Also, a kid is never really committed until he signs his NLI.

Last, not every recruit is Penn State material. Penn State material besides obviously meaning good on the gridiron and good in the classroom would also mean IMHO someone of high eithical and moral standards. A kid that had a good up bringing and showed the traits of honesty, hard work and loyalty. To me if a kid is not honest or shows no loyalty now in the process, then he won't be honest or loyal down the road. So to me a kid that doesn't or can't keep a promise or later as a team member say breaks team rules, then that kid didn't keep his word to abide by those rules and so is not 'Penn State material.'

So I've often said over the years when kids decommit like Wimbush and McLean have done this year.....that they weren't really 'Penn State material.' I mean just that, if they were they would have A. been honest and kept their verbal pledge that they gave to the coaching staff and B. not been disloyal by breaking that pledge or promise. So by definition they are not and never were 'Penn State materal.' That's not the same as some on here who can't read would imply that they are not good football players or that we see them as inferior. Just that they do not possess the traits that make a Penn State football player. Michael Mauti would be an excellent example of what to me the consummate 'Penn State materail' kind of player while Silas Redd would be a good example of at the end of the day that he was not Penn State material. Was he a good player? Of course. Penn State material? Obviously not as he turned his back on the team and program when the team and program needed him most.

To give a war time analogy. If you are in a foxhole and fighting for your life.....do you want a Michael Mauti by your side or a Silas Redd? If you say Silas Redd your are doomed to die.....Penn State material...it's a real thing.

His delusional fantasies and lack of perspective would put him closer in line to the IJA HQs and General Tojo himself.
They did have some amazing networks of tunnels though... so I guess there's that.
Fight to the death, mass suicide instead of capture, resort to cannibalism b/c your logistics have all been sunk and no food for the past 6 months, ram planes into the side of the NCAA Capitol Ship in a desperate attempt to maintain your Honor...

Cannibalism would be kinda hard considering Mauti has no teeth

Wait...Jay Paterno reads from his book at book signings? I am picturing The Cult sitting cross-legged on a floor mat at rapt attention like a kindergarten class. After Jay gets done reading a passage, I imagine The Cult hanging on every word, then begging, "More, more. Read us some more of the sanitized version of the Second Mile scandal."

psunovaluvr: "I went to the one in Chester County. It was great. Jay read from the book and then took questions(back before the emails). We had color coded wrist bands that let us get in line for signing in the order we arrived. Line moved well, even with Jay speaking/photos with each person. I would say there were 100ish people there."

SoutheasternPABuckHunter: "His reading was mesmerizing. Very emotional. It was like Joe was in the room"

bkmtnittany1: "Wyoming valley mall...Jay was great...spoke for about an hour then signed autographs took pictures etc....he is a class act.."
