Game Thread Penn State at tOSU, Sat. Nov. 1st, 12pm ET, FOX

I'm sure Day would like to run up the score on Knowles a little bit if he can. If you read between the lines of what he says about Knowles I don't think he's going to be sending him a Christmas card anytime soon
That is why I have been thinking the odds of OSU being flat are near zero.

Knowles has got Day’s rosacea up and the defense is going to want to prove something

No need to run it up.

Limit total plays by draining clock to keep players fresh for the upcoming gauntlet.

Well, “we’re human!”

I like evil Ryan Day. I’m pretty sure no “talking a knee” is in the game plan, and I’m all for it

The notion that Day is planning to rub Knowles' nose in it bothers me. While I think and hope that he's now outgrown it, he's shown that one can get in his head and make him work against his interest. I love what we've seen and heard this season about doing whatever it takes to win each game rather than trying to prove a point and that needs to continue Saturday.

This game presents an interesting challenge for someone who knows his tendencies, personnel and flaws, and whether Ryan can rise above that and do what they want offensively. An excellent lead in to the trip up north.

Particularly with an offense that's even less able to win a street fight, compared to last year. And despite the justified frustration with the Michigan gameplan, it almost worked with a QB unable to look side to side.

This year's team is hoping Bo can be Antonio Pittman to provide enough a ground attack (which would be plenty). Meanwhile this may be the best pure operator at QB (remains to be seen if he can maintain when it gets tougher), but with the least size to handle a bruising.

It's vital to know who they are, and the nation will learn who Julian Sayin is this week.

Outflank Jim, and the kudos are the same.
Try to show him up, and it may backfire spectacularly.

Am amused to see all the vituperation for Knowles.....but my thoughts, are that the 'now' stars on tOSU D are gonna want to put it in another gear, just to show Knowles that 'look at us! You kept us on the bench, and see what you missed!" Am still utterly amazed that after losing 8 starters to the NFL (all drafted in first 5 rounds by the way), the current players are kicking it. Simply cannot figure how it's being done....soooo, a longish way of saying don't discount what our D is gonna do when they're unleashed. Will predict 5 sacks of Druckenmiller, or whomever they put behind center. Go Bucks! 45-7.

Can we have a play early in the game where people might question the competence of the referees? Then, the Penn State fans can whine that that play set the momentum for the rest of the game, and say that they might have had a shot.
(For reference, how many people remember 2013? 63-14. There were a couple of plays early that were called Ohio State's way. Penn State fans felt that Ohio State unfairly got a head start and Penn State might have been able to win, otherwise. There was a play early when Ohio State had something like 3rd and forever inside their own 20. Miller ran around and completed a pass. Not for a first down... but for a good gain. A Penn State defender got knocked off his feet, and Penn State fans thought it should have been a penalty. Ohio State had to punt, anyway, without the penalty. A little while later - still in the first quarter - Ohio State got a good gain down inside the 2 yard line. I think the initial call was a touchdown, but replay shows he stepped out of bounds. He's reaching forward with the ball, though. So where's the ball when he steps out? His foot stepped out around the 2, IIRC. But he's reaching forward. No camera angle shows anything definitive. They put the ball at the 1, which I think is correct. (Ohio State scored a play later.) Penn State fans thought it should be out at the 2. But my question at the time (and now) is, "How can you put the ball at the 1, without a clear video shot showing where the ball goes?")

Anyway, watch the referees miss a holding call against Ohio State. Watch the Penn State forums explode.
