Game Thread Penn State at tOSU, Sat. Nov. 1st, 12pm ET, FOX

Get out the plunger. I'm going to do my prediction well before the game, I'll probably tied up pretty much up to the game, so I'll do my prediction now.

From the outset, even with all the turmoil in Happy Valley PSU still has some quality players scattered across the lineup that are as good as any in the country and they're always extra motivated for this game since they have this cute notion that we're their rival.

First off, the Penn State offense has obviously struggled this season. If they can run the ball and try to control time of possession, that is their only chance imo. They have the potential to do that with their RBs, so I expect a run heavy defense to start. Allar is a decent QB with mobility, but nowhere near the hype he gets. If he is pressured, he folds like a stack of poorly built house of cards.

However, their defense is capable of good football and if they bring it, this could be a somewhat close game. We really need to get the ball to our top playmakers even if it's no surprise what the game plan is. Throw it to JJ, Tate and Klare early and often. Klare is definitely poised for a big game if we scheme his way. On defense just avoid the big play and bring the heat. In other words, change nothing and suffocate a very subpar offense. I anticipate some chicanery early on

And fans at the stadium, WAKE UP AND GET LOUD. This environment needs to be like it's the biggest game of the year and although the start time isn't ideal, the Shoe knows how to get LOUD. I don't care if it's a noon game...get up early, slam some adult beverages, and overwhelm them early.

Can't wait for this one, always look forward to this game every year. My prediction is OSU 38, PSU 14. Go Bucks!

Zurp, was watching in a sports bar in San Jose, CA. Pretty amazing place, got there early, and the Ivy league folk were just wrapping up their games, leaving their seats for us second gamers.....game was close for about two minutes, and then PSU starting shredding the Buckeyes. Believe it was Curt Ennis doing the damage, believe tOSU made him a millionaire that day. Anyway, my buddy (MSU grad), and I went over to the gaming section and played some video games, leaving our seats for the third gamers. PS, that bar made a killing in those days. Certainly the 'instant replay' was not as sophisticated as it is now, and that 'wired up drone' wasn't traversing the stadia on Saturdays.....am looking forward to a good game for a quarter or two, before Jeremiah, Tate and Inness tear the hearts out of the Nits....Go Bucks!

great write up! but Allar is out at QB so its the Olentangy, OH kid Grunkemeyer at QB

My original point was trying to refocus who was gimmicky with uniforms, because it was not the AtM AD.

Gene sucked, too, but it didn't get crazy until Urban and it has stopped under Day.

Alt uniforms are for recruiting. Tress was recruiting Ohio kids who wanted to be part of buckeye history. Urban shifted to a national focus and those kids were less impressed by the throwbacks.
