Penn State at tOSU, Oct 30th, 7:30 PM, ABC

Guys - you won. Your coach has yet to lose a conference game as the head coach. You beat a ranked opponent tonight in a tough game where you still won, even when you didn't bring your A game. The only loss you have is to the 7th ranked team in the country, by one TD. You are playing a Dead Man Walking next week who has a QB who threw FOUR PICKS today (one of which was a pick six).

Chill, ya'll...chill....

You and your reverse psychology is going to pay off one of these days. When that day comes, I’ll try to act like I’m not so mad about the loss.

…but I agree with everything you said.

A few quick takeaways....

Defense forced 3 turnovers, had 4 sacks, held Penn State to 33 yards rushing on 29 carries (1.1 average) ... but allowed Penn State to convert 11 of 18 on 3rd down.

CJ Stroud had 305 yards passing with a TD and no picks ... but seemed late on many throws, missed open receivers, and generally looked more like Tulsa CJ than Rutgers-Indiana-Maryland CJ.

Offense had 466 yards ... but only 22 first downs, 5 of 14 on 3rd down, and awful in the red zone (TD, 4 FG, over on downs).

Ohio State had 10 penalties for 74 yards including 6 procedure penalties (has to be a record).

Bucks made a lot of mistakes, but won by two scores in spite of themselves. Job done.

And PSU didn’t have a single false start.

Gotta count this as two wins over PSU.

I am convinced they have been working on this game plan for at least two weeks.

Great effort though. I can just see them huddling in the locker room pre-game chanting "Let's win one for Jimmie's contract!"

After the game they had against Illinois, I was wondering if they treated that week as an OSU prep week and had done little for the Illini.
