Well there’s two things I said were the keys.

Stop the run and no turnovers. Do that and it’s a big win but don’t and there’s a path to lose.

Here we are. Not tough stuff here vs a team with no QB.

Two things that haven’t really happened this season are going to happen in the second half. First, West, or maybe Jackson is going to break a long TD run. Second, Smith is going to catch a long TD on a post route.

The O is not pass protecting

Penn State had a good drive but otherwise the defense is fine. They cannot be put in a bad spot with turnovers it’s that simple vs a team that can’t throw the ball.

CJD12 is and has been the least dynamic back on the field, and did the only thing you shall not do in that situation. Is what it is. PSU's tempo and their pitches aren't a sustainable strategy for them, and they can't go straight at us, so I'm unconcerned. But then I'm always unconcerned. Only team that can beat us this year is ourselves. /shrug

What I don't want to see to open the second half is the same sort of lethargy we saw against the Sign Stealing Cheatin' Weasels last year. A sort of apathy like "I mean we're going to win, so we're not worried about it." I'm 54 sitting on a sofa; I get to not be worried about it. They better ALL come out like someone chopped ghost peppers with no gloves, and then gave them all a prostate check, with no gloves. Urgency, fire, and no #12. PedState can't cover Tate, Smith, and Innis. So, do that, and those TEs. And some Bo. This game is the Lions' entire season, it's just another week for our guys.

Guess all the sharp money that drove the spread up knew what they were talking about and my "sky is falling - this is a trap game" mentality was a little off.

I knew this was a trap game. The sky is falling.

But honestly, play the freshmen RBs, keep foot on the gas on O and make some minor adjustments on D and get out with a win.

Another half where OSU’s offense only touches the ball 3 times (not counting kneel down).

Making for very thin margins on offense with how these games move. And how teams seem to move clock against OSU.

Ultimately, the Donaldson fumble changed everything. Good drives from offense. Defense was okay against middle runs, bad against tosses and bad on 3rd and long. Maybe need to dial up pressure in 2nd half.

Should be okay today but frustrating - and yeah. I think all our eyes are on the last week of November…
