In their last ten games since playing OSU in 2006, these are the points per game given up by PSU: 7, 27, 17, 12, 0, 13, 0, 13, 10, 0
In fact, PSU has allowed 30 or more points in a game only once since their 3-9 season in 2003. That would be the 41 given up to Notre Dame last season. That would mean for about half the guys on this PSU team, the most embarrassing loss of their PSU careers was the poor showing in South Bend last year.
As I posted in the Charlie Weis thread, this game has to have been circled by PSU since last season ended. They gave up 41 points, though they didn't even allow 400 yards of offense. Darius Walker only rushed for 56 yards on 20 carries. It was BQ picking them apart with the dink-and-dunk shit, and PSU committing three TOs that turned that game into a rout, especially the Morelli fumble that Zbikowski returned for a TD which broke the game open.
The thing that really stood out, though, was Charlie Weis faking punts and leaving in the starting, 1st-team offense while up 31 points in the 4th quarter.
I remember that like it was yesterday, and I don't even give a shit about Penn State. I just remember watching the game on NBC thinking it was a bullshit, unsportsmanlike, stat-padding, bush league move on Charlie's part. If I feel that way, I can't even imagine what the PSU players feel.
Jimmy Claussen is in for a rude awakening.
