Penn State 17, NOTRE DAME 41 (Final)

I don't view it as a bad thing to be running this game up. They need all the playing time they can get clearly after barely surviving last week, where better to get it then on saturday. Plus they are playing a top 20 team in the nation, you drill it to them hard.

P.S. I still hate ND more then scUM.

Imitation is the sincerest of flattery -- Charles Caleb Colton

From the announcers"

"And, In a new tradition, the ND team, win or lose comes down, helmets raised to salute the crowd and sing the school Alma Mater."

Carmen, Ohio, why does that sound familiar?

Why, if you're a Buckeye fan, would you want that to happen? And BTW, at 27 to 3 in the 3rd, I'd say it's a blowout. This is bad for the Big 10 and bad for OSU.

At least I can stop recording this dog and move on to something moire hopeful, like maybe Iowa will wake up.

By the way, is time standing still out your way? It's been 4PM for at least three hours here.
Because their fans are fucking assholes. Fuck them all.

That makes me want to throw up. One Word: Cooper. Notre Dame should never even come close to scUM.

And so you blame Michigan for Cooper's total inability to win The Game?

Be glad we put Texas away by more than a touchdown. Be hopeful that Michigan wins next week, or be ready to see Notre Dame ranked #1 and playing no one but the three service academies and USC.

We always have a chance to play and beat Michigan and no one can take that win away, but we have no chance to play and beat Notre Dame during the regular season and we'll never beat their national media support.

That wasn't what he said. He said he hates Notre Dame more than scUM. You can hate scUM more than Notre Dame and still "root" for them to win since it helps us.

Just got back from the game, this was a bit of a surprise. PSU didn't score their first TD until the 4th quarter when we started putting 2nd string D in. Glad I put my cash on ND for this one :wink2:
As far as running up the score, they pulled the 1st string offense starting the 4th quarter. I've seen Texas, USC, and maybe even tOSU run up the score a bit on some patsies last season, and scored more points in some games at that. Joe Pa couldn't come up with one defensive stop on 4th down, which is party his own fault, and party ours for kicking field goals so poorly last week.
I have to say that, aside from the rumors I had heard regarding PSU attitude, the fans on campus today were pretty well behaved from what I saw, no fights or excessive trash talking to speak of before or after the game. Felt a little bad for them by the end though.
Michigan is the next big test in a month of tough ND games. They have Hart back, which we didn't get to see much of in the game last year in Ann Arbor, but we also lost our best receiver early in that game. Both players are back healthy for each side, so it should be interesting. If our defense continues to keep them out of the endzone like last year, I think we can take them at home again.

Mmmm, I said maybe :wink2: I definitly remember a few Texas and USC games that had ridiculous scores. Knew there were some other Top 10 teams that were guilty a few times too, thought there may have been an OSU one. If you go by one posters definition of NDs 27 points on a scoreless PSU, you could say OSU's games against Illinois and Northwestern were run up. Thats the only reason why I mentioned it, I didn't think 41-17 was that bad today from my point of view, and they pulled the 1st string there after they went over 40.

Carmen Ohio? Actually, after the Navy game last year, the ND team went over and sang the Navy alma matter with their players. The team decided they liked that togetherness the cadets and players from the Navy squad showed...although I'm sure theres plenty of other teams that do similar rituals after games :wink2:

You can dress mutton as sheep, but its still mutton. This Ohio State tradition springs from a set of values that Jim Tressel revived when he was appointed. Charlie Weis does not have those values and frankly doesn't seem to understand them.

No, he was just trying hard to pad Quinn's stats in a game against an obviously over-rated opponent.

My guess next week? Michigan 28 Notre Dame 24 and I think Notre Dame can lose by up to 10.
