As much as things changed from The Game to now, not much has changed to me in the sense that we have an opportunity to accomplish the penultimate goal of a national title and that road was always going to mean having to beat UGA. That is not a small task for sure, but it is an opportunity to check off the biggest box on the goals list.
I do agree the formula is very different for getting a Natty though, we have to sling the ball early and often. Get aggressive over the middle with the passing game, it is more risky but we are most effective when we do that. When we do run it, I want to see Hayden get most of the carries, he has earned that opportunity and there is just no excuse for not getting him the ball more last game, as I don't think he was injured at all. If Miyan is healthy, he should also get a ton of carries. Henderson we learned has a significant injury and he might be able to play, but if he's not a full 100% just hold him out.
As to weather conditions and the dome, I do think that is an environment that suits us best with no threat of weather conditions effecting the game. Last Saturday was perfect weather in the Shoe but I think we just played like shit. If we play to full potential in a dome, it is a chance for CJ to light it up. If we don't, then this just isn't our year and our offense underperformed.
On defense, obviously UGA can score but I think we are built to slow them down enough to win. We have several guys that can team up to guard their TE and generally we are adept at stopping the run. Bennett is a very good QB and maximizes the talent around him from what I have seen...might want an occasional spy from someone like Ransom or McCallister on 3rd down situations. I am attempted to say we match up well against their offense schematically, but *ichigan runs a similar offense and torched us with lesser players, so I am just hoping we dial it up in the right places and don't get exposed to big plays like last game.
That is an objective take of the upcoming game from my end, but there will be no negativity from me going into this game. UGA is a challenge and one our fans (and players/coaches obviously) should damn well embrace. If we want to recruit at the highest of levels and win every game, that means we want to play a team like UGA to win a title. I understand some lack of optimism based on perceived weaknesses from the last game, but we have an insanely talented team and over a month to prepare, so lets focus on that shall we? Go Bucks!
