Patriots(-13.5) at Giants

I liked Drew Breese when he he was at Purdue and Jeff Smoker at Mich State. When did those guys get drafted or did Brady do anything as good as those to guys did in the Big Ten?
Brees went in round 2 and was head and shoulders above Brady in college. Smoker was decent at MSU, but I believe went undrafted.

Did any of y'all see Brady at his combine work-out before he was drafted?

He looked like a fucking pussy.

And now he's possibly on his way to establishing himself as the greatest QB of all-time.

It's so crazy when you put his whole football career in perspective.

I know stats don't tell the whole story, but they do tell some.

In the season that Brady started every game for scUM, his stats were:
214/350
2636 yards
15 TDs
12 INTs

They did go 10-3 with a bowl victory that year. Looked more like a game manager than a potential top five NFL QB of all time.

I find it amusing when people talk up the Patriots and mention how great their drafting has been and as proof of that, they bring up Tom Brady.

yeah, that's why they waited into the 6th round to get him

That's why he was buried behind Drew "Stats but no Wins" Bledsoe until Bledsoe got injured.

Almost as dumb as giving the Rams credit for Kurt Warner.

I do think they draft well, but I agree. Tom Brady was more luck than anything, nobody saw this coming.

Well, maybe since the Pats won ESPN will focus more on that then hating on the Buckeyes..

You're not kidding. M*ch*g*n took a future HOFer and damn near turned him into somebody who looked like he would get cut from a high school marching band.

That is pretty crazy. When Peyton Manning was in high school down here, everybody interested in LSU recruiting knew about him. The only negative word was the maybe he was overrated because he went to such a small school (he went to the most expensive high school in Louisiana, and it was a very small 2-A school -- 5-A is our big boy division). But then he went to Tennessee, and I'm surprised they gave Woodson the Heisman over him (although I did find Woodson to be very exciting). But comparing the paths Brady and Manning took to where they are know, its crazy that Brady hasn't always been a badass.

I wasn't following it then, but I'm sure Tom Brady was a decently-regarded recruit when scUM pulled him out of California. They tend to nab some pretty good HS QBs from all parts of the country. How they've developed those players over the last ten years or so - that's another matter.
