Pat Fitzgerald (HC Northwestern Wildcats, Forever)

some good points, but give me a fucking break about young fans and families preferring to watch games on multiple televisions at home because of *insert scary music* technology. maybe, just maybe, lots of fans prefer staying at home because, for example, it will cost $500+ for a family of four to watch the freakin' cincinnati game. take a family to watch penn state? unless you're living comfortably, forget about it.

it's almost as if fitzgerald has absolutely zero clue that it's this consumer culture with no attention span that funded his program's $300m sports facility. again, he makes some good points, but he also sounds like an old hypocrite.

I mean...sure whatever. Doesn't help that tickets to a shitty game cost $100 and the view is better from my couch where I can pause the game to piss but blame phones.

Or the absurdly overpriced junk food and shitty beers at microbrew prices in plastic chairs smaller than cattle airlines.
That's why i only go to Indy...
Concert scene isnt having this issue... wonder why.

care to give me $1,000 so i can take my family for some face-to-face interaction at the penn state game? face value was $200 per. would really help us be a 1980s family.
He was talking about couples sitting next to him and his wife at a local restaurant, not at a football game.

But, ok, I get the gist of your grievance that ticket prices are out of reach for most people. What does that to do with a football coach saying it's tough to get kids' attention these days?

beers at microbrew prices

I went to a Colorado Springs minor league baseball game a year or so ago. Beer were $8.50 for a Coors Light. If a pumpkin minor league game is charging that it is out of control. And young kids with their new fangled gadgets suck, too. Anyone know how I get to the internet on my new Blackberry?
