Packers (ex-NW'ern) RB Tyrell Sutton (official thread)

I think he looked very good against us. But, I think that Wells will mature to be very good as well. Hey, if an Ohio kid makes it big somewhere else, then more power to him. I just hope he has a bad game against us every year!

Roethlisberger! Why the heck didn't we get Roethlisberger?

I'm not sure if you're serious w/this question, but I heard something the other night (I think on the NIU-Toledo telecast) that I thought was interesting, namely that we recruited Ben Roethlisberger, but he didn't come here b/c we wanted to turn him into a TE, and he wanted to play QB.

if thats true i'm going to use my 20/20 hindsight and say thats the absolute dumbest thing i've ever heard

back to Tyrell... here's to hoping he ends up in the top 5 rushing and scoring this year !!!

note: his older brother holds virtually every rushing and scoring record in Div III...

Some people just can't look past what happens for their own team. If doesn't matter if Sutton rushed for an ncaa record this year. Most people would rather take Maurice Wells just because Ohio State got him...It doesn't do any good to compare, but you can't possibly say Sutton doesn't have the makings to be one HELL of a running back....What little we did see Wells play this year..He really didn't seem to make much of an impact at all..

with the year pittman had this year, i wouldnt expect to see sutton getting many more carries/having a big impact this year for OSU. he definitely landed in the best situation for him.

The most interesting fact of the whole Sutton situation:
He should never have seen the field this year...

First string back got hurt in very late preseason...
Second string back (and starter for game 1) got hurt in the first couple plays of the very first game...
THEN Sutton got his chance...

Otherwise, Tyrell sits on the bench all year... best case, he was supposed to merely be filler till the starter or second string got healthy... That first game was all Tyrell needed to implant himself for a four year stint...

Betcha he ends up making Academic All American... in a tough academic HS, he always had great grades
