Am I the only one that wishes for Oregon to fade back into CFB obscurity?

Damn you Joey Harrington!!!! :pissed:

I'm glad we beat them in the Rose Bowl because Chip Kelly is going to win a lot of football games. He's still a dick, though.

I just wonder if he's going to stay at Oregon forever.

Sure he's had a run of good players that fit his system, but that can't last forever, nothing ever does.

Eventually someone from one of the big schools is going to come calling for him.

Oregon has deep pockets, not only will they always be able to get who they want they'll be continually upgrading their facilities. It's just a matter of convincing better players to come to Eugene which if you ask me is kind of a lame town. Getting D'Anthony Thomas away from LA was huge. If they can continue getting those kind of guys, watch out.

Phil Knight has elevated Oregon's program, financially. As long as he owns Nike and they keep making money - and Oregon doesn't piss him off - the Ducks will be able to match what any big school offers Kelly.

Stanford will come back to earth when Luck leaves so only USC is a real threat on a regular basis and they are in the other division.

Eventually even the deep pockets of Nike won't be able to recruit the right players for this guy's system and/or Chip Kelly's ego will make him think he can take it too another level with one of the big time schools.

Oregon isn't going to be one of those. They are the West Coast version of Okie State in terms of support.

Well, he had help from the local gangs (supposedly) making a decision. No doubt Oregon is getting some lightning quick players though.
