From what I've read here and other places, Frye has been given notice (most underperforming asst coach on the Buckeye team) during his review. From what we've seen so far (four games), the OL is playing better than prior years, so there's that, and from what little is panned on the field towards the end, Frye is getting some OLs real game experience. Going to be critical, as four of current starters either run out of eligibility or go on to the NFL. I was impressed with the pocket around the QB against MSU, as well as the ferocity of Trey's blocking chops on the MLB or DE coming after Howard. Emeka showed his completeness by sealing off LBs and CBs on some run plays as well, but that's for another story. There's still plenty of season left, and the MSU game was nice warm-up, and Iowa comes a'knocking this week end, with it's usual stout D. On the positive side, when Donovan was out, Severeid (sp?) filled in nicely, and now splits time with Tegra. The difficulty scale of games climbs, what with Iowa, Oregon, Nebraska, Penn St, and then TSUN providing chances for tOSU's OL to excel. Then a whole different level in the play-off games. Meanwhile, Frye has to start solidifying recruiting, would be a feather if he flipped the GA Tech OL, and laid the foundation with five or more 4-5* OLs (LTs please) for 2025. Didn't plan to go on and on, but will finish by saying that believe that Chip will probably go a step further than any other Offensive Coordinator, due to his relationship with Frye at UCLA. Let's cheer for no injuries on the OL, decently high draft places for those departing, and higher rankings for our 2025/2026 OL commits. Go Bucks!
