2027 CB Larry Moon III grateful for Ohio State offer
Pennsylvania 2027 cornerback
Larry Moon III was one of the standout performers at Ohio State’s first recruiting camp of the summer, and he left Columbus with an offer from the Buckeyes to show for it. Ryan Day presented the 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback with the offer at the end of camp.
“It feels good because Ohio State has a rich tradition of football,” Moon said. “Being a part of that would be something special. (Coach Day said) you looked good out there and to keep up the good work. He thinks I’m really talented.”
Moon also appreciated the opportunity to get coached by Ohio State secondary coach Tim Walton. It was his second time talking with Walton, as he came to Columbus in the spring for a practice.
“He was just talking to me about the real and the fake stuff in recruiting,” Moon said of his conversation with Walton at the camp. “He coached me hard at the camp about discipline and attention to detail.”
Moon has more than 30 Division I offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC and Wisconsin.
“OSU sits with me very high because coach Walton is very respected developing defensive backs,” Moon said of where he views the Buckeyes in his recruitment. “I’m just grateful for all the opportunities I have for my family and I.”
Moon says he hopes to be back at Ohio State sometime this fall for a gameday visit.
Four-star 2026 QB Jonas Williams includes the Buckeyes in his top four, and 2027 CB Larry Moon III was grateful for his Ohio State offer following a June camp.
