Philadelphia Imhotep four-star Enai White, 247Sports' No. 1 edge rusher for the 2022 class, has four top schools and a commitment decision timeline in mind. However, as broken down on Thursday's episode of the 247Sports Football Recruiting Podcast, Clemson is a suitor to keep an eye on while White weighs the current finalists — Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Texas A&M. 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn, whom White spoke with last Tuesday, explained why the Tigers are a team to watch out for.
"Enai White is a kid that made four official visits, so he only has one left," Dohn told 247Sports national recruiting analyst Blair Angulo, who doubles as the host for the show. "But it's a really interesting situation — first of all, he's our No. 1 EDGE guy, No. 6 national in the 247Sports rankings. Right now, he's looking at Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State and Texas A&M. He has visited — officially — Georgia, 'Bama, Ohio State. Took (an) unofficial to Texas A&M. He also took an official to Florida. Florida's not in the mix anymore, so he has one official left. He's talking a little bit about maybe wanting to Oregon — which, if he does, it'd be a great job of Oregon to get him out there. Right now, that is not a school on his mind a lot.
"But the one to really keep an eye on or really that's intriguing — if he does not officially visit Texas A&M, does he officially visit Clemson? Clemson has been lurking with Enai White for the past year. And every time he trims a list or every time he talks recruiting — he doesn't visit there, he hasn't made a visit there — but Clemson continues to come up. And he brought 'em up to me again when I was with him in Philadelphia last week. And so, that's something to look at.
"For me, it could go anywhere. It can go Ohio State ... Ohio State wants him to play fully with his hand on the ground. The other ones are kind of the edge guy, where he can drop into coverage and also get up the field. But Ohio State offers 'put your hand on the ground' and, obviously, they sell the Bosa kids and 'what we've developed with them.'"
