P Jesse Mirco (transfer to Vanderbilt)

I can definitely understand rewatching games to better understand what happened, but this one immediately went in the "just forget the game" column for me. Anything else is leaning to close the AtM nut-squeezing territory.

If we really want to "subject ourselves to torture", chewing glass seems a better option

Dude I get that. I really don't know why I rewatched that game other than to learn. But I don't get paid to do that, so what the hell right? But either way, let's just go destroy everyone now. Especially on November 26th, my dad is ready to retire and there's no way that can happen unless the Buckeyes win. I'll come down and play freaking slot receiver if that's what it takes (you laugh, but I'm pretty fast and have good hands). I'm all seriousness, this would just be the perfect Saturday if we can manage a win.

Enjoy Lindy's to see all conferences, and their B10 in depth. Gives me a perspective nationally, and not through the 'homer' viewpoints. Mirco not rated in top 5 nationally (at least by this mag), but have seen enough that he's pretty good at what he does. Tad stronger leg and he's in the 45-47 yard average, and a finalist for the kicker (Groza?) award.

It would be the Ray Guy Award for punters.

That punt was one to the "top plays" of the game. It really flipped the field position, etc. That 72 yard punt sure was a "thing of beauty".

Notice how close he came to stepping out of the end zone. That could've been huge at that point of the game. Instead, he flipped the field.

Not trying to hate on Mirco at all, but that punt returner screwed up bad. If he fair catches it, they're past the 40 yard line. Then the punt took every right bounce to make it that far.

I'll take it of course, but I haven't been thrilled with Mirco on pinning teams back on the shorter punts so far this year. I know he can do it and maybe I'm off, but I don't think he's been very consistent this year.

Mirco has averaged 44.2 yards per punt this year with a 39.7 yard net average. Even if the returner fair catches that punt it's a 50 yard punt from as deep in the end zone as it could possibly be.
He hasn't always been perfect this year but that punt Saturday was a game changer. I may have some problems with our special teams play (and our special teams coach), but Mirco really isn't part of the problem.
