P B.J. Sander (official thread)

Once you get past the first couple of rounds, the players are projects or longshots to make the team anyway. IMO, taking a punter who could contribute right away, or early on even, is a good call.

I guess its cause he won the best punter award thing.
The quote is from a newbie on BN...thought it would be good for a laugh

Speaking of the Cowboys, why didn't they take Steven Jackson in the first round? That was a bit of a head scratcher. Quincy Carter sucks and Parcells loves the power running game. Seemed like a perfect fit.

Only on the surface.

Parcells has never taken a RB in the first round. The team website has been dropping hints for a month now that they would trade down if one of the first round OL - Andrews, Carey, Gallery - wasn't available. For some reason, the ESPN boys were surprised by this, but I wasn't.

They got Julius Jones in the second round, and more importantly, Buffalo's first round pick next year. They grabbed OL from USC and LSU their next 2 picks, so it's all good.

A good pick for the Pack with Longwell leaving. 3rd round may have been a little high though. Mike Sherman was saying on the news tonight how he liked the fact that BJ is used to punting in front of 100,000+ people and how he should do well at Lambeau.
