The game is over and done with, a few thoghts.

1. Outcoached. Hats off to Mack Brown and the Texas staff they outcoached Tress and Co.

2. Qb play. Left a lot to be deisred. Zwick wasnt a worldbeater but played a better game. The offense with JZ is more effective. Again and again you see this "athlete qb spread" getting 3s not 6s against good defenses. Note I was in now way impressed with JZs play. Also i thought it was terrible students and adults were chanting "F*$& Justin Zwick" Terrible if I had any control you would be unable to ever buy OSU Tickets from the University again.

3. The FAns were loud, but i was sorely embarassed with the "I hae texas", "Texas Sucks", "F*$& Texas", and the already mentioned chant against one of our players. Embrassing.

4. OLine play, improvemnet needed here again. I have yet to be impressed with a Tress line.

5. Time to move on. Other teams have lost huge games early and collapsed or made it so the game made them better. I would love for our team to rebound like Wazzu did against us in 02 on their way to the Roses.

Its Over and Done with, now its time to see how much moxy this team has. Do they have the mental toughness to take one on the chin, get up and keep fighting or will they role over and die.
 
Disagree with the "outcoached" comment. If Hamby catches the TD pass, we hear nothing on how "Tressel was outcoached" because we probably win the game. Don't blame Tressel on the Hamby drop, or on how Troy Smith audibled to a QB draw on nearly every snap...he made a gorgeous TD throw but other than that didn't do a whole lot.

As much as I like Smith to start next week - you should NEVER chant against our players. That is really, REALLY embarrassing. Our fans are suppost to be a part of the team, its almost as if we were a part of the Texas team Saturday night. Can you imagine a middle class dad saving and scraping money together to take his son to one of his first OSU games for a lifetime memorable experience. Just to get there and halfway through the kid has to say to his dad, " Dad, this is great, but what do they mean by fuck Justin Zwick? I thought he was on our team?"

Just a disgrace on the fans part.

Tressel was in no way out coached. He has more then proven himself vs. top teams. Mack Brown can't touch Jim Tressel, or Bob Stoops record in top games. I think Texas got lucky Mack didn't couch us out of the game.

Both agree and disagree. The whining and second guessing could not even have started so far as I am concerned.

On the other hand, I have been anticipating this game for three years and I am not ready to stop rehashing it just yet.

Hmmm, I don't think tOSU was out coached and really the only game decision I didn't like was the pooch kick right before half time. Time and again you see teams do this, NFL and NCAA alike and I dislike the decision everytime I see it. I just don't think the time it takes away offsets the yards it gives in return in most circumstances.

I agree with the others, one dropped pass difference and/or one less burnt corner and we're talking about the masterfully coached game here. In my opinion I think the game was well coached and well played on both sides of the ball.

About the rude fans, it's the same everywhere, a lot of beer + a few dumbasses = an embarassing element in the crowd. Oh well, what can you do? Some of us can have a few pops and not get out of hand and some of us can't.

Hats off to Texas, excellent game but I hope we spank your asses on your field next year! :)

Move on indeed - let's finish up this one loss season and hope the rest of the top 10 finish with one loss as well. Best to get the loss early and out of the way I say!

Nothing like chanting against players to impress prospects and recruits. Fans like that should be banned, because they are doing more harm to the program than any player on the field EVER could.

Speaking of scUM, NOTHING that either of our QBs did or failed to do did anywhere near the damage to our hopes of winning the game as what Chad Henne did against ND. Before anyone goes whining about Zwick this or Smith that, go back and watch scUM-ND. Henne would literally be fifth on our depth chart with that kind of showing.

I feel bad for Zwick. He showed a lot of class and loyalty by not transferring last winter. That doesn't mean that he's owed playing time, but I think that fans and sports "personalities" should show the kid more respect than they are.

He's going to be a Bellisari-like whipping boy now, I'm afraid, in some circles. Just what we need to regroup from a tough loss :shake:
