Not many were talking about Louisville (Ky.) Christian 2019 wide receiver Milton Wright in connection with the Buckeyes before Friday. But by noon that day he was being talked about a lot by many at the Ohio State camp.
The 6-foot-3 and 190-pound Wright was on the field early working out in front of Ohio State coaches and was very impressive.
“I thought going to Ohio State would be a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills and have fun there at camp,” Wright said. “I thought it was fantastic. The coaching staff seemed awesome. They are really enthusiastic. It’s a great environment.”
Wright has been talking to Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith. He also spoke with Urban Meyer on Friday.
“I talked to coach Meyer afterwards,” Wright said. “It was fantastic. It was a wild experience.”
Wright currently holds seven scholarship offers, Louisville, Kentucky, Pitt, Oregon, Purdue , Indiana and Illinois.
“My dad and I talked to coach Meyer and Mark Pantoni,” Wright said. “They talked about offering me when I become a junior. They have to get my transcripts and keep evaluating me.”
"Nope," he told 247Sports when asked if he's heard from OSU. "Hopefully they are interested."
If the Bucks do change course sometime in the near future, it appears they'd have a shot at landing the talented end.
"They're a school I'd be interested in," he explained. "They'd be one of my top schools."
Saline, Michigan, cornerback Myles “M.J.” Griffin will also attend Friday Night Lights, his fourth trip to campus in the last year and second in as many months.
“Coach Coombs asked me to be there after camp,” Griffin told Eleven Warriors, “so I'm going to go back and try to ball out again. Every time I go to Ohio State, he always shows me love. I really think he feels like I'm an Ohio State defensive back.”
