The Ohio State coaches are out in full force again this weekend, checking on prospects all over the nation during this Spring Evaluation period. On Monday, Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Everett Withers was in the state of North Carolina and one of the prospects he checked on was Belmont (N.C.) South Point linebacker
Tanner Muse. The 6-foot-4 205-pound prospect has some interest in Ohio State but was surprised by Withers stopping by.
"Coach Withers came by the school (Monday)," explained Muse. "It's a school I'm interested in. (Ohio State) has sent me letters and camp invites but I never thought they would come see me, being so far away."
Muse is aware of the tradition at Ohio State and that is something that has caught his attention when it comes to his interest level in the Buckeyes.
"The program is fantastic," he explained. "They are one of the top five teams in the nation and I just know that they have a thing for winning."
Now that Muse knows there is some interest on Ohio State's end, the next step will be setting up an unofficial visit to Columbus to try and get a feel for the campus.
"I'm going to talk to coach Withers," he continued. "I'd like to tour the campus and the facilities soon."
