Other than OSU, who had the best decade in the Big 10?

That it's embarrassing how much we sometimes struggle to beat Illinois, given Illinois has been to a grand total of two bowl games this decade, yet both were BCS games where they got their doors blown off.

Yes, Illinois has more than twice as many 3-win seasons (or worse) in this decade as they have bowl appearances (e.g., winning records). In fact, they've won three games or fewer in five of the ten seasons covered from 2000-2009.

If we DO consider 2001-2010; then we're trading Cooper's last year (what was it, 6-6?) for our regular season this coming fall.

Now that is going to make for one heck of a decade.

1999 season was 6-6
2000 season was 8-4

Not quite as nice of a trade, but it will still be good. Imagine, a modest 10-3 season for Ohio State in 2010 (including bowl games). That would add 2 more wins and subtract 1 loss from Ohio State's record for that decade. That has to be a record for most wins by an Ohio State team in a decade. Of course, previous decades had far fewer games. I wonder how it would compare to all-time winning percentages by decade.

I also wonder how it compares nationally over the same time period?

Is Wisky getting an extra season counted over these other teams?

While you're at it, could you sort out the idiot who announced that he was from "The Oregon State", during the Bengals-Jets pregame? :slappy:
My favorite one of those announcements was during the Jets game.

Braylon Edwards - Llllloyd Carr's University of Michigan

 He does not want to be associated with Michigan as it is now.

Conference records 00-09:

Ohio State 64-16 80%
Michigan 53-27 66%
Iowa 49-31 61.3%
Penn State 45-35 56.2%
Wisconsin 44-36 55%
Purdue 41-39 51.2%
Northwestern 38-42 47.5%
Michigan State 32-48 40%
Minnesota 30-50 37.5%
Illinois 26-54 32.5%
Indiana 18-62 22.5%

Looks like Wisky really cleaned up in the OOC games.

LOL @ Illinois

The numbers are from Stassen.

RR's horse abortion only tainted the last 2 years, given the decade as a whole scUM was clearly second best.

I wonder if you posted these numbers on the scout board of every big ten team whether you would get any argument that OSU did not have the best decade of any Big Ten team? You know someone somewhere would have some justification for how team x had a better decade than OSU.

I wouldn't put it past Penn State fans.

Where is the 5-4 bowl record coming from? Should be 5-5.

5 wins: 03 Fiesta, 04 Fiesta, 04 Alamo, 06 Fiesta, 10 Rose
5 losses: 01 Outback, 02 Outback, 07 BCS, 08 BCS, 09 Fiesta

I was just wondering why the original poster's totals had Wisky playing 10-12 games more than the other three. Looking a little closer at the numbers, I think Wisky's overall record is actually:

Wisconsin......86-43......

The weird thing is I checked the numbers on Chris's page (which is why I mentioned it obviously) and somehow missed the difference. Weird.
