OT Paris Johnson Jr. (All-American, Arizona Cardinals)

For Buckeye fans - I hope so, but I've not seen much, except for media hype on PJJ.

I hope he dominates & is drafted #1.

PFF (link below) is a pretty reputable source and rate PJJ the 6th top prospect on OL for next year, Dawand at #3. If you get into the nitty gritty on his performance, there are definitely areas to improve on this year (though I think that he played a lot better than he got credit for in the interior). But the raw talent and measurables, along with a pretty good performance last year, have everyone looking at PJJ as a potential 1st round pick. If I was a gambling man, I would bet on PJJ going 1st round if he stays healthy. Good news is I think we are only looking at upside for PJJ this year and his potential is off the charts.

Barring any surprises or injuries in preseason camp, Ohio State’s starting lineup up front already appears to be set: Paris Johnson Jr. at left tackle, Donovan Jackson at left guard, Luke Wypler at center, Matt Jones at right guard and Dawand Jones at right guard.

There’s no shortage of talent in that lineup – Johnson and Jackson were both five-star recruits, Wypler and Matt Jones were both rated as top-two centers in their recruiting classes and Dawand Jones is as physically gifted as any of them – and Day believes in all of their talent.

“Paris and Dawand, they're both very talented. Both have played a lot. Paris, not as much at tackle, and that was the reason why I wanted to get Paris in there last year to play, because even though he was a guard, he still played a lot of football,” Day said. “Matt Jones has played more now. Luke had a great year. And then Donovan is going to be younger, but we think he's very talented. So when you look at those five, you think that those are five really good offensive linemen.”

“I've just been taking it just one day at a time and I've just been trying to enjoy every day. In fact, this is the first camp I haven’t like dreaded it as a young guy but more so I'm excited for each opportunity I get to improve my craft,” Johnson said Monday. “One thing I tell myself, I just want to enjoy the day, and I don't want to let anything steal my joy. Because I feel like in camp and look on social media and look across the country, everybody, they have the wrong mindset coming into it.”

“I've spent a lot of time just like working on the basics,” Johnson told Eleven Warriors this summer. “I feel like that's what I needed was just a lot of one-on-one time to just work on my craft and not do anything too fancy or whatever, just the basics. And honestly I'm like really happy where I'm at and where I'm headed as far as just working on the little things and the basic fundamentals.”

TREVEYON HENDERSON, PARIS JOHNSON JR., JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA, C.J. STROUD AND DAWAND JONES NAMED PRESEASON ASSOCIATED PRESS ALL-AMERICANS

Five Ohio State players received preseason All-American honors from the Associated Press on Monday.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, running back TreVeyon Henderson and offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. are all first-team selections, while quarterback C.J. Stroud and offensive tackle Dawand Jones made the second team.

Ohio State had the second-most players represented across the first and second teams with five, while No. 1-ranked Alabama led the way with six players.

Johnson will move back to his natural position of left tackle this year after starting for OSU at right guard a season ago.

Talk about living up to the billing in terms of recruiting ranking. Kid was already a freak athlete with the prototypical frame of a LT, but he has put in the work to hone his technique and more importantly, be completely nasty and want to dominate whoever comes in his way. I would be ecstatic if my NFL team had the chance to draft him in the first and needed a LT.
