OT Mike Adams (Official Thread)

agree...it was time for JT to move on with his life and hand over the reins. He did incredibly great stuff here. Sadly, toward the end, the kids started taking real advantage of his personal style of support.

I still love Adams and the other knuckleheads because they are OUR knuckleheads. But they are definitely knuckleheads.

I know. It isn't like this is some sort of surprise test. In my opinion, this reflects on his decision making skills more than smoking pot. Amazing the decisions some people make, especially when it could cost him quite a few bucks if he slides in the draft as a result.

So, of the two premiere left tackles during the Tressel era (Boone and Adams): one never achieved greatness (at least while in college) because of booze and the other because of marijuana.

Getting a LT who is not under the influence of something or other will be a major advantage for Meyer moving forward.

Another reason to be disappointed about the players and coaches who give tOSU a black eye. I'm starting to wish these guys fail at the next level and I sure won't root for them.
Give me a break please.

isn't rooting against them a little extreme?

I fully agree that Mike Adams is a very frustrating example of how youth is wasted on the young. Some day he will probably get it together....but I hope it's not too late for him to realize a majority of his playing potential.

Guesss I neve relized how many saints and choir-boys we have that post here on BP

If we were to cheer against all players (or people in life) because they did something illegal and/or stupid there wouldn't be many left to cheer for. I understand they have privileges and may be held to a higher standard but get over it and yourselves. Stupid, yes. Reason to be vindictive? I say no but to each their own I guess

I agree, no reason to be vindictive.. I liken this to TP showing up in a 350Z with media camped outside the WHAC with his temp plates. Fucking stupid.

This has nothing to do with whether or not posters on this board are choirboys. It has a lot to do with whether an adult football player with incredible talent can control himself long enough to get a huge payday in professional sports. So it is about stupidity.

It isn't about being vindictive or being a choirboy, or being mature enogh to abstain long enough from weed to fool (lie to) the Nfl or even about if it only "hurts" himself.
It's about being held to a higher level by the fans and tOSU as a representative of the same.
It's about being mature enough to disdain the use of drugs altogether.
It's about not embarassing the people who did support you and cheer you on, and not just as a player but also as a teammate and a Buckeye.
I am a fan of tOSU, not necessarily any player, and when a player or coach does something we wish they didn't I lose respect for them.
I am a fan of tOSU and the tradition that is tOSU. So anything anyone does that demeans the university I am against.
We do hate to be compared to the "bad boy" teams of college football , don't we?
I never said I would root against them in the pros, I said I wouldn't root for them.
